มะพร้าวคาเฟ่ (Maphraw Cafe) — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I arrived at Surat Thani Train Station from Samui around 5 PM, but my train didn’t depart until 10:30 PM. Based on the reviews, this cafe seemed to be one of the best nearby, so I decided to give it a try — and I’m glad I did. As soon as I walked in, the owner (I believe she was) asked if I was a foreigner, as people sometimes mistake me for a local based on my appearance. She then offered to recommend one or two items from the menu. Since I had already had plenty of coffee that day, I opted for the coconut ice cream, which was absolutely delicious.

The owner was incredibly kind and even took the time to explain what I could do around the area within walking distance, both in Thai and English. I was probably the only customer speaking English, but she went the extra mile to make sure I understood everything. She was so friendly and welcoming. She also let me store my belongings with her while I visited the night market she had recommended, and I was able to pick them up afterward.

The 5-star reviews are 100% true! If you're stuck waiting on your train THIS is the place to be. The lady who owns the cafe is beyond nice; she's so helpful with local recommendations/info, let's you hang out as long as you'd like, speaks excellent English, and understands it's no fun to be stuck at the train station.

She (obviously) made us delicious coffee, and we enjoyed some heavenly homemade cakes by her sister. She pointed us towards the night market after we cooled off and refreshed. Them invited us to come back after the market to hang out until she closed. Also, there are multiple charging ports with universal plugs at every seat. And free fast wifi.

We came here to catch a train to Bangkok. We reached quite early and we were searching for a place to wait till our train arrives. We came across this place near the Surat Thani train station and thought that we could wait here. They were closing down but when they came to know we had our train they welcomed us and were kind enough to let us stay for almost 1.5 hrs. The cafe is really beautiful with great interiors. It is a clean place. The coffee and hot chocolate we had was really good. The washroom was very clean and well maintained. The lady at the cafe was very welcoming, kindhearted, and helpful.
