Our experience at this charming rooftop restaurant was exceptional. From the moment we stepped into this “mom and pop” spot we knew the food was going to be authentic and delicious Thai cuisine and we were not let down! We were greeted warmly by Vitaya, the owner, whose genuine hospitality added to the enjoyment to our evening. His wife’s culinary skills stood out in every dish that was prepared fresh to order with love. After an awesome dinner, we were so impressed that we ordered a special breakfast for our family of five the next morning before heading to the airport. The quality and flavor of both meals exceeded our expectations, and the prices were very reasonable. The rooftop dining area provided a casual yet nice and inviting ambiance, and we appreciated the cleanliness maintained throughout the restaurant, including the Western-style restroom. Compared to another restaurant we visited on the downtown riverfront, this gem surpassed all expectations. It’s no wonder both locals and tourists alike go out of their way to enjoy a great Thai meal and wash it down with a cold Thai beer up in the rooftop across from the river. River Chills Food&Drink in Surat Thani is a great spot for delicious Thai cuisine. We really enjoyed our meal here. The laab was tasty and well-seasoned, with a nice balance of flavors. The pad krapao hit the spot with its aromatic basil and perfectly cooked meat. We also tried the som tum, which was fresh and had a good mix of sweet, sour, and spicy notes. The spring rolls were crispy and made for a nice appetizer. The pork neck was a standout dish - tender and flavorful. The riverside location adds a pleasant touch to the dining experience. Some of the best food we have had travelling and definitely the best we have had in Thailand! We had the Thai green coconut chicken soup (a milder version of the Thai green curry) and the Thai Basil Chicken and also the chicken wings! All were so delicious! The owner and family are incredibly welcoming and warm. Such a relaxing and easy environment, we really felt the love that goes into everything they do ❤️ Our only wish is that had enough time here...
