Thongyang Sea View — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

1 star only because of the sunset and the view, which is truly amazing here.

We came here to have some food and watch sunset. I ordered red curry with seafood and my partner ordered tom yum seafood and bbq fish (as was stated on the menu).

My curry arrived looking like a soup. It was not red and there were 2 prawns there, the rest was vegetables 😂 my partner’s “seafood” tom yum also had two prawns. Both dishes came with rice, my rice was burnt and his rice had ants in it…. Bbq fish was steamed and not bbq/grill.

We made a complaint but staff looked at us and just said sorry. They also changed their energy towards us completely. I did not finish any food, it was just terrible. Fish was terrible also. Then they gave us a full bill despite our complaint and also added some extra mango juices there that we did not have 😂 nobody cleaned our table or said good bye to us after we paid. Their energy was absolutely terrible.

So if you go there, just order some juice and enjoy sunset, then go somewhere else to eat. Don’t bother with food here. It’s also quite expensive here for such a poor food...

Food is absolutely incredible. The first time I came I ordered the fried red curry which was better than nicer looking restaurants I have been to, and the same with the Penang curry I got the second time. It is a really nice shack looking place, and the staff are very friendly and looked very happy when we came back. Even though it is on a very steep hill, it is totally worth it. Everything is very well priced. Because of its positioning, the sunset is absolutely beautiful. This place is so underrated and should have way more customers than it has. Will 100%...

They don't serve what they say on the menu. I ordered cheese french baguette, but they gave me a hotdog bun with cheese in it. See pic attached. Apparently a hotdog bun is a french baguette for them. Plus the food is overpriced and not even close to being good. Their cocktails and burgers are not good and their mojito is not a mojito. Definitely NOT recommending this resto. The only good thing about the resto is the view and the ambience of the place. But if you are looking for good food, you will not get it here....
