The service here is good, but you will have to catch their attention if you need a staff for something. The place is well-kept and the tables are clean, and there are plenty of seating spaces. It looks like any other Thai-Chinese restaurant one will find in Bangkok.
The food here is quite amazing. They are known for their bitter melon soup. You could barely taste the bitterness of the melon. This lack of bitterness, combined with the sweet flavors of the pork bone and other aromatics, creates a nice mellow flavor that easily entices one to gulp down the whole bowl.
Their braised goose are also equally as good. It is what this restaurant has been known for since it's opening 4 generations ago. The meat is lean and tender, and the skin is soft. The soy and spice mixtures come together to create a perfectly well-balanced flavor of salty and sweet without it being overwhelming. The vinegar and garlic sauce that is served alongside the goose, in contrast, is sharply sour and garlicky. I find that this intense flavor of the sauce cuts into the fatty bit of the skin and brings out even more meaty-flavor from the goose. It was a pleasure to eat.
And lastly, we had jabchai (จับฉ่าย). It is a combination of many vegetables stewed together with pork ribs until everything is soft and tender. The pork falls off the bone, and the vegetables are so soft they melt in your mouth. The daikon radish in this dish is so tender you'd think you're biting into a sponge cake.
This is definitely a place I'd come back...
Read moreThis is one of the best Bangkok chinese restaurant I've ever come across. They have been in business for many years now. I heard of it for the longest time but never got around to it even though I visited Bangkok at least once a year.
They are now along the motorway towards airport and can be very convenient to drop by if the Suvanphum airport is your destination.
We came here for an early dinner. Ordered the stewed goose feet with noodles in claypot, crab meat roll, chap chye, radish n bittergourd soups, chicken rice, and hot tea.
The goose feet was amazing, the rice was super fragranted, and the soups were all delicious . If course the chap chye never fails, possibly one of the best. Taste wise, this place gets full marks from me, 10/10. Also because these are my definition of 'comfort- food'.
Service could be better, staff seemed to be idling a lot and taking.
Ambience was a great big hall with strong AC and very spacious.
Prices were not unreasonable, but some dishes like the goose feet commands quite a hefty price.
I would definitely...
Read moreMy mother and I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant on August 1st. The ambiance was inviting, and while the average price was over 400 baht per person, the quality of the food and service made it worth every penny. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service, ensuring our meals were served promptly.
Speaking of the food, it surpassed our expectations in taste and presentation. The dishes were bursting with flavors, leaving us with a satisfied palate. Personally, I couldn't resist ordering their orange juice, which is an absolute delight and has become a must-have for me during each visit.
Overall, this restaurant has earned a special place in my heart, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual outing, this gem will leave you with fond memories and a longing to return for more...
