Baan Tewtara Restaurant — Restaurant in Trat Province

In 2021 I'd came to Trat only to be recommended this place by a homestay owner. Exactly a year later I have the chance to come and try out what the locals call a real deal.

Food quality, anount and everything else considered are actually quite suited for their prices. You get exactly what you pay for and that's probably the most neutral compliment I can personally give. It is obviously far from the best and it is very far from the worst.

The access to the restaurant itself is where that one star goes missing. They try rallying in mini electric transporter from their proper carpark, which is 2 kilometers away from the restaurant. And for tourists like me coming in with my private car, guided by this application, I will only be taken straight to the restaurant and slap a 20 baht parking fee at the locals' front yard. Want to save that 20 baht? Well too bad you've already made it to the restaurant and to simply turn your car back to the restaurant's parking, you got to drive 2km back and that would cost you more than 20...

This place is absolutely fabulous. There are still some out of the way places in Amazing Thailand that are not all touristed out. Baan Tewtara is one of them. Very authentic and fresh seafood. Fishing boats pulling right up to the restaurant which is located on a river across from a huge mangrove national park. Beautiful location. The food was outstanding. I was the only farang in the place which I like. Service was excellent. Definitely worth the drive from Meuang Trat if you are spending the night there waiting for a ferry to Koh Kood or Koh Chang. Heck, I would spend an extra night in Trat just to go...

Very nice atmosphere and cozy restaurant locates at riverside.

Seafood here are very fresh and reasonable price. I recommend squid fried with salt egg, stir crab. The taste here is better than some of the famous restaurant in Bangkok or even in Pattaya.

However travel to restaurant is a little bit difficult because it is located faraway from main road. Restaurant provides park area near main street and there are restaurant bus for free to transfer customers in.
