Nanny Restaurant — Restaurant in Trat Province

It was the busiest restaurant near our resort so we tried. People (mostly foreigners) keep coming so the food must be good, we thought. Big menu. From Thai food to spaghetti, burger, dim sum... Hmmm.... I am always a bit skeptical when the menu has lots of pages and varieties. We ordered a Spicy Stir fried shrimp, Salt and pepper Crispy pork and Grilled pork neck. Shrimps was very good, 7 shrimps with a lot of carrots and veggies. It was the best of three dishes. This was the reasoning for the four star and makes me think that I will come back to try something else. Flavour of crispy pork was good but crispy pork is NOT crispy. It taste a bit old and chewy. 'Pork Neck' was NOT pork neck. The texture is more like a piece of pork chop. It was reddish colour and a bit gamey. Flavour is a bit off. Again I suspect it's an old piece of meat marinated for a long time in the fridge. It does not taste fresh at all. Dipping sauce was spicy but not very good. Although I don't like the two pork dishes because of meat quality. I think I will go back and try something else. Maybe a curry? Update. Raining so ate there again. Ordered same Spicy shrimp Stir fry, Red Curry Stir fry Pork, Seafood Pad Thai and Green Curry Beef Fried Rice. Shrimp again very good. Pork a bit tough but flavour is good. Seafood in Pad Thai is very fresh and dish tastes excellent. Not overly sweet. Beef in fried rice is also a bit tough but flavour is good. I think they habitually overcook their meat. Service is really slow though. Waited 45 mins until first dish appears. Update 2. Yea ate there again because three nights in a row we drove around and every other restaurant in the area and even lonely beach is dead but this one. Fried spare ribs with garlic is good. Tom Kha Gai is good but chicken not the freshest. Steam young coconut curry with seafood is not so good. Left my stomach queasy all night. Think we don’t have much choice until we move to Kai Bae beach as there’s really not any other restaurant than looks inviting and BF prefers not to ride too far...

I absolutely love this restaurant and its staff. The food is amazing and the prices are really good. They have original Thai food, western food, breakfast, fantastic fruit smoothies, ice coffee's and so on. Its also possible to take away the food, but eating there is wonderful too. They have enough fans to keep you cool and I absolutely adore the staff. We are staying in the Mercure Hotel near the restaurant, with our toddler and baby. Everytime we are there and our dinner or lunch is served, one of the sweet ladies or guys take over our baby, make him laugh and showing him around whilst we eat our food in peace. I cannot thank them enough for that, it makes our baby happy and calm and gives us a small break. I think we've already been there 10 times and will be there at least 10 more the coming days. Food & staff didnt disappoint once. Absolutely recommend...

This restaurant is so lovely, the staff here are amazing, you can see they work tirelessly each and everyday from morning to night, we have been here almost everyday at least once sometimes twice in one day. The menu is like a book, so much choice from traditional Thai dishes to burgers and cooked breakfasts. The quality of the food is great too always fresh and so affordable. But before you come and get mad at the staff for the wait time take a moment to see that the tables are almost always full no matter what time of day it is and you will see it’s the same staff at 8am and 11pm at night.
