This bar is hands down the best place on Koh Mak to catch a sunset! It’s got a super chill vibe, perfect for relaxing while the sun goes down. They’ve got music playing all day which adds to the tranquil atmosphere. There’s a wide selection of drinks and food, so there’s something for everyone.

The owner is awesome - super cool and friendly, and speaks great English, making it easy for us to feel welcome and get any information we needed. We explored other spots on the island but found ourselves drawn back here every time. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Koh Mak.

The sloooooooowest service ever. Came with kids, waited for an hour for our food. I get the Thai time and space continuum, but this was slow beyond my expectations. Plus considering the prices, the service should have been better. And the fried rice, we got bcs we were told it is going to be the quickest? After the our we got something I could cook better with little or no effort... after delivering the fried rice, they realized they forgot about kids food. This whole visit was a complete disaster. Never coming...

A Hidden Gem on Koh Mak – Thai Sabai Bar

Every time I visit Koh Mak, Thai Sabai Bar is an absolute must. The food here is outstanding — full of authentic flavor and cooked with care. Even as a Thai traveler, I find the taste impressive and the price more than fair. Portion sizes are generous and the quality is consistently excellent, making it great value for money.

Their cocktails are another highlight — well-made, refreshing, and very reasonably priced. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which adds so much to the laid-back, cozy atmosphere. They play great music, and the beachfront setting is just stunning. The sea on this side of the island is especially beautiful, perfect for a swim before lounging with a cocktail in hand.

If you’re planning to hop over to Koh Kham, boats are available right nearby. Thai Sabai Bar truly captures the spirit of Koh Mak — relaxed, local, and unforgettable. Highly recommended whether it’s your first visit or your tenth.
