I quite literally never leave reviews so to be doing so means this place is quite special. There isn’t a single critique I can think of for this restaurant. First time in Gambia and I happened to stumble across this place unexpectedly; the staff were so welcoming and answered all my questions. I left and came back with a friend for lunch, we ordered the oxtail and whole jerk chicken - the oxtail was so tender and and comes with spinners! (Which iykyk is a rarity in Caribbean restaurants these days). The jerk was smoky and tender and juicy and the accompanying sauce was perfect; the right level of spice and sweet. We had the pleasure of sitting next to the owner Malaika who is an absolute delight. Such a kind person who took the time to speak with us at length and share stories. If not for the fact I had a schedule to keep to I would have spent the entire day there. She has a great spirit about her and is very endearing to everyone around her, in the short time I was there countless people passed by to greet and interact with her. What she has been building here is very special and I recommend anyone visiting The Gambia to put this place high on the itinerary list - you won’t be disappointed!

We visited Mo2 in search of vegetarian/vegan food whilst holidaying in The Gambia. We both had the VitalItal stew peas with a side of steamed cabbage and a cristal beer, with a veggie pattie to take away. The food and service were both excellent, the decor was really nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was approximately a 15-minute walk from the Sengegambia strip where our hotel was located. The bill came to D1600 (approximately ÂŁ20). We would like to go back to try the callaloo and plantain rice and maybe have a pina colada before we fly home. Recommended for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

THE place to go for delicious food! Tastes better than my Jamaican Grandmother's cooking, no lie. The jerk chicken was seasoned perfectly, smoked pink and the perfect amount of spicy heat. The oxtail was so tender and the rice and peas were fire. Even the callaloo held its own. Service was fast and everyone working in the restaurant was incredibly friendly. You can tell that the owners only believe in quality and hold themselves to a high standard. Definitely planning on making this a weekly spot. Food and drink prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the high quality.

Mo2 Restaurant is what I like to call a wholesome type ah place as they cater for all your senses...

The food is fresh and tasty ... They also care about your health with their herbal teas and their vegan choices...

It's a great space to meet others who are returning home or visiting Gambia...

They cater for themed events for fun nights out and it's available for hire for your celebrations or your meetings... There is also high-speed free wifi connection...

Mylika, who is the proprietor and truly the hostess with the mo-stess is always coming up with recipes to tease and tantalise your tastebubs which keeps Mo2 alive and kicking in these times.

I give thankhs for her spirit and her energy which encourages other women to stay upfull... Because as they say in Gambia "it's not easy" anyway, easy is boring ... Lol..

Coming from the UK to Gambia took a day or so to adjust (including my pallet adjusting), however Mo2 was a breath of fresh air! The attention to detail, customer care, the genuine interest and time given to every person that walked through the door made my food just taste amazing! It then became my go to for the duration of my holiday and every visit I’ve had since! If you’re vegetarian like myself, the Callaloo and Plantain wraps are delicious, not to mention the vegetable patties! There’s too many things to recommend like the fresh juices!

What can I say, I think I should’ve become a member of the team, as I was in the restaurant so frequently!

Managed and lead by someone with a beautiful spirit! Don’t just take my word for it, go and taste and experience it...
