Buffet King — Restaurant in Chaguanas

My family always appreciated Buffet King as the birthday dinner venue.

Within the last two years, Buffet King's quality has significantly changed. From a variety based menu to limited menu. The quantity served is based to number of persons booked for the evening. Sometimes, if you visit the Buffet, there is waiting time for some foods.

Over the last two years-

Increase in Prices per Person Increase in Prices for Drinks A waiting time for appetizer of soups as it no longer as part of the buffet layout. Food quality has dropped and some of the food items contains a lot of salt. Shrimp is not deveined. Chicken is salty and not tasty. Desserts cakes are now Kiss cakes with icing. There are no other variety of cakes. No more water melon slices. Less Vegetarian Foods options.

I am in Trinidad visiting to celebrate for my aunts 80th birthday and she wanted to come to this restaurant tonight .I just feel that on a Monday all the food seems to be stale. Maybe because it was a Monday and over the weekend had leftovers. The birthday cake was stale because there was no bounciness to the sponge and all the edges were dry. I spoke to the manager about this and she said she would get me a piece from the back. However, the piece she me the edges were still dry. Ask for something hotter than the pepper sauce they were serving, they said they had nothing available. So going to Trinidad buffet all you can eat you would expect them to have a variety of hot sauce. On a sidenote, we were celebrating my aunts 80th birthday she usually loves this place. This was a terrible experience for her...

Over the years, I love coming here with my wife. On Saturday night, I called to make reservations. At no point in time did they indicate the following : Political rally was taken place in their carpark. To take alternate route to get there as roads were blocked off. Traffic delay in getting acesss to entry.

After finally getting there, all the items advertised on the menu weren't there.

The chicken pastelle was hard, dry and tasteless.

The shrimp was dry, hard and salty.

The chicken ham was left over the heat and completely dried out.

There was no goat and lamb as advertised.

The roasted duck breast was raw.

Whilst dining another customer was on her phone listing the same complaints.

Their standards have fallen drastically.

I will not be going...
