Paul A Grant Butcher's Steakhouse — Restaurant in Trinidad

My family and I were very disappointed with our experience here. We made reservations in advance and took time off work and school, driving a long way with the expectation of enjoying a nice evening. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, things went downhill.

The atmosphere was not very welcoming. After pulling up near the entrance, the security guard told us we couldn’t park there and instead directed us to a very dark and gloomy part of the lot, which did not feel safe or inviting.

Inside, despite having a reservation, we were simply told to sit anywhere. The waiter took our drink orders but then informed us that the only beef options available were short ribs and wagyu steak. Shortly after, another staff member confirmed that those were the only items available on the menu that night.

On top of that, the menu itself felt incomplete — there were no appetizers, and overall it lacked variety. For a steakhouse, the options were extremely limited. After waiting without being served a meal, we ultimately had to leave, which was very disappointing given the effort we made to be there.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the potential is there, but the overall experience fell far short of...

At first glance you won’t think of this place as a nice restaurant, in fact you may even pass it straight. The lay out isn’t fancy either, it gives a laid back, backyard type of vibe but the family friendly ambience is nice. There’s surprisingly a lot of staff and our wait time was short even though we ordered 3 different large multi dish meals. The food is where this quaint restaurant shines best. Our steaks were perfect to our specifications, tender, juicy and flavorful. The lamb racks were melting off the bone, the shrimp were fresh, huge and popped in our mouths. The sides were great too, freshly made steak fries, vegetables and mushrooms. Portion sizes were large and justified the cost. While this restaurant isn’t too expensive, you shouldn’t expect to spend anything less than $400 ttd. That being said, 2 people could definitely comfortably share 1 meal here. I'm sorry to say this Mr Grant but your service sucks...totally devastating. After being seated i had a 17 minute wait for a waitress to come and take my drink order and another 10 before she took my food order. This was only after i had to stand up and ask her to come and take my order. Their attitude is disgusting. Passing up and down and not once even taking the few seconds to ask if someone had attended to us. Secondly they did not inform us of the specials...waited till i already decided on my meal to inform me that the option i wanted is not available from the menu and that there are other specials i can choose from. Even though u were not cooking...your food tastes great. But NOT good enough for me to endure horrible service and having my time wasted. To everyone else reading this post...find another steakhouse or if u like to be ignored and jus want to waste some time....feel...
