I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service at The Ranch. Training, along with courteous and attentive service is sorely lacking for both management and staff. The irony is we visited here 6 years ago and had a wonderful time. My family and I (party of 4 adults) were visiting this establishment on Thursday 06/23/22 and arrived around 730pm. One couple was exiting and we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. In an era where the hospitality industry is in recovery mode, I would assume that high standards should be established to attract and maintain customer base. We were greeted at the door and provided seating. The server took our drink order and brought us drinks, then took our appetizer order. We placed our dinner order at 7:45pm. 20 minutes later the server returned to let us know that "the ticket/receipt did not process since there was a problem with the machine and that it was processing now." It took our server 20 minutes to realize that the order was unsuccessfully entered in the system, because she was too engulfed in chatting with the bartender. Upon the order actually going in, we were told that it would be another 30 minutes, so 50 minutes after the initial order. Furthermore, the entire time we had been there, after the initial drinks, the server never asked if we wanted a refill nor did she remove the dirty plates from the appetizers. At this point, we requested that the dinner order be converted to a to-go order. We were advised that the reason for the 30 minutes is because it takes that long to bar-b-que chicken. The food came out around 8:30pm. We asked to speak with the manager regarding the lack of service and the error. Our initial bill was $600 (with no alcohol), and the manager deducted $50! I advised the manager that this was their error and a huge inconvenience to us and really the entire bill should be complimentary since we waited 45 minutes to actually get our dinner in hand, not to mention the additional 10 minute commute prior to actual consumption. The manager acknowledged the machine error but proceeded to tell me that it was "only a minute." She then instructed the bartender to deduct another $6 and walked off. What an insult, not to mention the rude tone and actions. So...in addition to training, the Ranch apparently also needs new clocks and watches for staffing or at a minimum hire someone in a managerial capacity competent enough tell time! The one bright side of this, hence the 1 star rating, was the bartender who attempted to assist with a friendly demeanor, along with the grilled shrimp. Two individuals in our party ordered chicken which was extremely dry. Perhaps The Ranch should decrease the cook time for the bar-b-que chicken from 30 to 25 allowing customers to expeditiously access their food! In summation, if you're visiting the Mayaro area, save your time and money and explore other options. We will not be returning to the Ranch and will advise others not to do the same. The Ranch is apparently still in lock down mode while the rest of the world...
Read moreAbsolutely nothing like it was before.. The food was bland, little protions & expensive!! $50 for a beef burger, more like a sandwich, the patty was nowhere close 4oz, & didnt even get fries. More lettuce than anything else. $50 for the smallest plate of loded fries, the fries were soggy, & made me sick, I had to go to the doc next day who told me I got food poisoning!! $20 for a beer, which had little to no froth (stale or gone bad). The service, they sat & watched us the entire time, like they were willing us to go.. Like "How dare you come here & interrupt me doing nothing?" But I am most concerned about the caged animals, they have in pairs, apparently for breeding. Their cages were filled with so much filth it coated the floor. There was no sign of food or water in any of the cages.
This establishment will never see me again, only if they change mgmt. & I will make it my business to warn every single person I know to not visit.

Read moreI had the following meals at The Ranch & they were delicious even with my 'but' :
Wings & Fries - this was served with a fresh salad & the fries & wings (2 full chicken wings) were crisp & tasty. The wings had no sauce so if you want that, you will have to add it. I didn't miss the sauce though
Stew chicken, dumplings, cassava & callaloo - portion size was very good & the food was tasty. The chicken somehow didn't have any sauce so that was surprising. Luckily there was more than enough callaloo to moisten the meal
Stew pork, dumplings, cassava & callaloo - again more meat sauce would have been nice but otherwise a delicious meal & good portion size
I personally didn't need the chive garnish on the meals ( I don't like chive like that) so next time I will ask for it to be left out & ask for more sauce also.
The prices for my meals were affordable and I will visit The...
