My friends and I were looking for a restaurant that offered multiple food options including vegetarian (since I am a vegetarian). We stumbled across this restaurant on Google. The reviews were great and spoke about good vegetarian options so my friends and I decided to check this place out. The restaurant is located in the Djerba Midoun neighborhood and is close to many other restaurants/cafes, bank, supermarkets etc. The chef, Lamjed (even though he doesn't like being called a chef), came and greeted us. He was very attentive and even suggested a few vegetarian options he could make for me. Lamjed was a one man show taking care of all of his restaurant customers. He even took the time to suggest us places to visit around Djerba. (We took his recs and visited all of them and we were not disappointed at all. Great recs.) The food at this place was delicious. The menu is quite diverse and has many options from breakfast to starters to entree to dessert. I got Djerbian chebtia for starters and my friends got Doigts (fingers) de Fatma. This is a tunisian equivalent to an egg role which my friends loved. The chebtia (veggie cutlet) was delicious also and the spices were just right. For entree, I got a pasta dish, and my friends got masfoof pilaf w/ sausage and grilled fish. The food portions were big and came with many sides. We also got mixed juice and tea with our food. This was our first time trying Tunisian/Djerbian cuisine. Overall, the food was delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice also. It's a good restaurant to chill and people-watch also. Would highly recommend checking this place out. Apparently this restaurant/cafe is known for its breakfast so be sure to checkout the breakfast scene if you are in town for...
Read moreThis restaurant is a hidden gem! We loved it so much we ate here every day while we were in Djerba. From the moment we walked into the restaurant the staff and chef were very kind and helpful. It’s a small place inside with cute decorations and a very nice outdoor patio. They helped us choose our food orders and recommended a few things. We tried the Brick, kefta, Tunisian salad, soup, bread, chicken special of the day, lemon mint juice, cheese pizza and the Istanbul brunch. Not all at the same time haha. All of the food was delicious. The chicken special of the day was my favorite with vegetable rice. We ordered a side dish of extra chicken because it was in a delicious sauce and we wanted more. The Istanbul brunch was amazing. The food kept coming out and we couldn’t believe it. The shakshuka was very nice, the eggs with sausage was also good. All of the small dishes of nuts, dried fruits, jams, yogurt, etc were very nice. It also came with amazing Turkish tea and fresh squeezed orange juice. Before the dinner meal they served us small salad, soup and olives with sauces and bread as complimentary appetizer. After the meal they served dates, oranges, and tea as complimentary. We really loved this restaurant and felt like the staff cared about us and wanted to make sure we were happy. The chef is a very kind woman who takes pride in her cooking. We look forward to visiting again and trying...
Read moreSimply FANTASTIC!! We came here after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed at all. The service was great from the moment we walked through the door, we chose to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle of the local market packing up for the night, however it started raining as the starters arrived and the guys here could not help us enough, within minutes they had created tables and space for us and about 10 other people to sit under a canopy out of the rain, moving plates and food plus helping people with their belongings. Within just a couple of minutes it was like nothing had happened and service carried on as normal. The team here are very attentive and ensured we were looked after throughout the evening. The food was amazing and you can see it being prepared and cooked in the kitchen. Again, the staff here were so enthusiastic aboout explaining what the different dishes were - especially the local recipes and it made it easy to choose what to eat. All in all a fantastic experience, the team here are great and they produce great service with the very best food. I highly recommend this as a "must" visit when you are in Djerba. Thank you and well done to the team for a...
