Authentic Berber Experience – A Hidden Gem! We had a wonderful evening at this third-generation Berber restaurant. The highlight was the flavorful couscous with tender chicken—comforting, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with care. The Vorspeise (starter) was also excellent, offering a great introduction to the meal with fresh, vibrant flavors. To top it off, we were treated to a short traditional dance, which added a lovely cultural touch and made the experience feel even more special and authentic. The restaurant isn’t open every day, so it’s best to check in advance. But when it is open, it has much more to offer than just food—there’s real heart here. I would absolutely do it again!

I didn’t realize this place was a family business and that just made it all the more special. You can tell so much love and care is put into everything they do here, Mr. Mtir (the owner) made us all feel so welcome and told us that everyone who worked there was from the same village, and they all became a family after so many years working together. The food was also so so good!

We had such a great experience with Laroussi and his family. The food was great, they showed us how to cook and prepare the local food, serve them and eat them. In the end they played music and we danced a bit. So much fun ♥️highly recommend

Douar Laroussi was the highlight of our day, and a top memory of our weeklong stay in Tunisia. It is a lovely place, and our lunch experience here was wonderful. I was blown away by how cool the Berber huts were on a 45 degC day!

The food was awesome. We had some fresh bread made in a traditional oven, as we walked in. It was served with olive oil they had grown, harvested, and prepared. They had a tapenade accompanying the bread (peppers, garlic, onions).

The second course was fresh salad - cucumbers, tomatoes, dried mint - which too was lovely, and perfect for a hot day.

The third course was brick, served either veggies and egg. It was much nicer - texture and taste - than brick we had earlier on our trip.

The fourth course was freshly prepared couscous, made from wheat they grow on their property! It came with a wonderful sauce.

Final course was mint tea with homemade makloub.

I wish we had come here earlier than on our last day in Tunisia. In a way it is best because we leave Tunisia with such a...

Authentic farm to table experience. Owner greeted us upon arrival and shared some information about the farm. Then explained how they created rosemary essence and passed a sample for us to try. Following that we moved a Berber oven to bread making demonstration. Then we were lead inside a large room to enjoy a specially prepared meal. Each course from appetizer to dessert was a tradional food mostly from the farm or area. Even a group of participants were given a special outfit and helped serve the main course. I would highly recommend visiting and enjoying the wonderful...
