We recently visited this restaurant and, overall, had a memorable experience with a few highs and lows.
The food was undeniably delicious, and the farm-to-table concept truly shines through in the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The presentation of each dish was spectacular, and the atmosphere was great at first, especially with the chill Turkish music playing in the background. Unfortunately, the mood was interrupted when loud music from a nearby wedding venue started overpowering the restaurant’s ambiance, which detracted from the otherwise relaxing experience.
Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and ordered drinks - both the lemonade and cranberry juice were refreshing and tasty. One unique aspect of the evening was being invited into the kitchen to view the freshly prepared mezes for the day. The staff provided detailed explanations of each dish and made helpful suggestions based on our preferences. There were plenty of options, and we ended up selecting 6-7 different mezes, which were more than enough for the two of us. While we found some dishes more enjoyable than others, everything was well-prepared and flavorful.
However, after receiving our food, we felt somewhat neglected by the staff. No one came to ask if we needed anything, and it took 30-45 minutes before anyone cleared our table until I started stacking the plates and pushed them to the side of the table.
For dessert, we chose the pumpkin cake, which was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to end the meal.
All in all, it’s an experience worth having. The food and concept are excellent, but the service left a lot...
Read moreWe have been coming to Asma Yapragi since it was in the center of Alacati and Alacati was still a little village. We stopped going for several years because they no longer accept children. Once our kids became old enough we started going again. I must say, the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing in the new location outside of town. It’s the perfect place to enjoy dinner. However, the prices are now obscene. We live in New York City and are used to high prices but Asma Yapragi still managed to shock us. We ordered 4-5 veggie dishes, 2 kofte, 1 small lamb shank, 1 bottle of white wine. We didn’t think we ordered enough food, but our total was over $300 USD! When we saw the bill we realized that they charged us $8 USD for a single mücver (we ordered 5 for a family of 5)! Wow! We also had a similar experience as another reviewer who said that they make you order dessert at the beginning, and at the end of the meal when you no longer want it, they force you to take it anyways even if it’s not on your table yet. I’ve never been told something as ridiculous as this. We asked several servers to corroborate this information and they told us they wont cancel the dessert and to just take it home. What a joke! It seems like Asma Yapragi fell into the same habit as many other Turkish businesses that now take advantage of the customer and don’t care if they return. Unfortunately now we...
Read moreIncredibly overrated restaurant!!! Today, I called the place to book for dinner as saw nice pictures of it on instagram and we were told, they were booked out, however walk- in is welcome between 2-5pm. As soon as I walked in, they said we could only sit for an hour, without welcoming us. Then they invited us to choose the food in the kitchen and it was super overwhelming! My little nephew went other side of the table to have a good look and immediately one worker said, “don’t stand there, come over here”??? There is no menu offered to check prices- only a sign saying one piece mezze is between 25-60 tl. To get the bread we asked for near bread, had to call them out 3 times! While still eating, they stared at us to notify us, our time was over. We paid 1100 tl for a couple of mezze and 2 main dish- no drink. Had to go to the another restaurant after that experience. The food was average, whole experience was horrible. I would be mad to re-pay 150 tl for 7 pieces of stuffed vine leave! I don’t recommend- there are much better restaurants with reasonable price and better service in Alacati!
Stuffed vine leave- 150 tl (7 pieces) Meatball- 220 tl (6 small pieces) Eggplant rice- 150...
