Kuzubeyi Kuzu Cevirme — Restaurant in Başakşehir

Walking into Kuzubeyi Kuzu Çevirme, you’re immediately welcomed with warm smiles and friendly greetings. Just to the left of the entrance, you’ll likely spot the main attraction the beautifully grilled lamb, slowly turning over an open fire, filling the air with an irresistible aroma.

We went all in and ordered one kilogram of the grilled lamb, along with some fresh yogurt and a selection of mezzes. The lamb? Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite melted in the mouth, perfectly complemented by the creamy yogurt and well-seasoned mezzes.

But what really made the experience stand out was the service. Ahmet and Isa, our waiters, were exceptional. They had that rare ability to be there exactly when needed refilling plates, bringing extra napkins, making sure everything was just right without ever being intrusive. It felt effortless, like they truly enjoyed making sure we had a great time.

If you love expertly roasted lamb, a welcoming atmosphere, and service that feels both professional and personal, Kuzubeyi Kuzu Çevirme is absolutely worth a visit.

Do not come to this restaurant!!! The ‘kuzu’ (sheep in Turkish) was not only tasteless but was mainly composed of bones so out of the 2kg we ordered only 250-500g of it was actually something we could eat!!! It was very overpriced and there are many restaurants around Istanbul who provide better food for a much cheaper price. When I paid at the end they took extra money for ‘service’ and when I asked them about it they said it is a 10% tax from the municipality which is absolute nonsense (even if it was true, why write service if it’s a tax?), and the service was actually very bad, they were very unresponsive when we asked them about the bill. After being a tourist for almost a year and a half in total in Istanbul I can confidently say that this is BY FAR the worst restaurant I have been to in this city!!!!! This place is one of the BEST in Istanbul.. I highly recommend it for meat lovers, especially the Kuzu Çevirme 1 Kg. You get to taste pure lamb meat grilled on wooden fire. I tried it with a friend and we never regret it, although the price is quite higher than usual, but it’s worth every penny. Tea and Turkish coffee are on the house and the place is very clean. Staff were really nice. I also noted something interesting; due to the COVID-19 crisis, they offered an electronic copy of the menu with a code that can be used to access it by your smartphone without touching the menu physically..
