David People — Restaurant in Didim

I been in Dimim 6 weeks now and I would say I spend most of my evenings in “David People” bar and restaurant, you don’t need to have a drink to have a laugh the staff always makes sure you enjoy yourself, I can honestly say I have never come across such genuinely friendly staff in all my travels and I’ve been to quite a few places. Every time Ihsan the owner comes in, morning, noon or night he does his best to thank as many people as he can for coming to his restaurant and his staff, Big H, Oguz, Ali, Elif, Volkan, Abdullah and my new adopted daughter Çıgdem, just have made me feel so welcome. Birthday lunch 20 February - Fries with hot starter were very cold (put right without question). Creamed potato puree listed on menu was not available as, we were told, the menu was 'incorrect'. Partner's starter not available, so chose 'soup of the day'. Waiter did not know what the soup of the day was (it was 2pm, so should have been aware). Had to leave us and go and ask the chef/cook. 'Sautéed vegetables' appeared blanched and were lukewarm. If you don't like food served on a wooden platter, ask for a plate. Platters appeared clean. Drinks glasses were empty for a while, so I had to attract the attention of a waiter to get a fresh drink. Friends say evening and event service is great/fine. I was told this place has good food. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with the food. The service was good - we got picked up outside our flat and taken to the restaurant. We ordered 3 starters. Bruschetta that we had to send back. Mozzarella stick (to thick and the cheese was not melting or hot) and hot chicken wings. Sauce amazing but the chicken wings are definitely frozen wings. For the mains we ordered steak medium rare which came out well done.
