Ofluoglu Izgara Kofte — Restaurant in Eyüpsultan

This restaurant is at a gas station. It is very clean. The staff are an amazingly efficient team to get you seated, ordered, served. I have been twice to eat in and once as take out. The kofte are good, they are a Turkish specialty made with baking soda in the meat mixture which I do taste but many do not seem to mind. Choice of 3 kofte (Ofluoglu special-plain, slightly spicy, or with cheese bits) you can order separately or mixed. Plate comes with spoonful of potato purée, spoonful of buttered rice pilaf and slightly grilled tomato and green pepper to add color to plate. I highly recommend ordering the stewed beans with meat and an order of pilaf. I think their beans deserve equal billing with the kofte. There are also deserts. Oven baked rice pudding, not too sweet. Ordered the “cheese sweet” last night to share. 3 balls of a spongy yeast dough that had been soaked in a sweet syrup. They were covered with unsweetened tahini, buried in crushed hazelnuts and served with a small dollop of clotted cream. You must try. The syrup was not cloyingly sweet and the tahini and hazelnuts combo was amazing -the cream was just a garnish. If/when I return to this restaurant, it will be just for this desert and a glass of strong tea.

Last evening the restaurant was crowded and we watched the 4 waitstaff seat serve and clear tables as if we were watching a floor show. No one seemed to feel rushed. En az 10yıldır haftanın 3 günü buraya gelip köfte ve sütlaç yerim arkadaşımla birlikte,bir süredir kredi kartı geçmiyor hadi neyse(bu devirde çok saçma,sebebini çok merak ediyorum,Kağıthane’deki diğer şubelerinde geçiyor) ama dün yine gittik,bir süredir gidememiştik,içeri girdiğimizde “çok özlemiş burayı,nasılsınız” falan diyerek içeri girdik,ordaki orta üstü yaşlı garson arkadaş(4-5 yıldır orada) gayet suratsız bir şekilde cevap bile vermedi,o zaten genelde suratsızdır ama başka artılardan dolayı önemsemediğim konu bu.Sipariş verdik klasik,içecek kola istedik,kola sadece Sarıyer var dedi bu arkadaş,yakın zamana kadar diğer klasik cola markası hep vardı,aa niye ya falan dedim,ben Sarıyeri içemiyorum,yandaki benzinciden alıp içebilir miyiz dedik,olmaz dedi,kasadaki görevli de olmaz dedi,yani bir bardağa koyup yıllardır gelen müşteriyi üzmeyelim demediler,bizde kalktık,bir daha da gelmeyeceğiz dedik.Böyle saçmalık ve suratsızlık biraz lezzet için çekilir değil,eski görevli arkadaşlar çok çok iyi idi,asla gitmem,tavsiyede etmem,başka arkadaşlarım burda ne bulup geliyorsun diyordu...

Müşteri: "Kuru fasulye var mı?" İşletme: "Kalmadı." Müşteri: "Kavurma var mı?" İşletme: "Abi o da yok. Kalmadı." İşletme: "Bizde yemekler bu saate kalmaz." Müşteri : "Halen daha açıksınız. Kaç saat de açık kalacaksınız. Keşke ona göre ayarlayabilseniz." İşletme: "Abi yok. Bizde yemekler günlük çıkar" (sanki müşteri de aynı günden bahsetmiyormuş gibi)...

Müşteri köfte sipariş verir. Bir süre sonra.

Müşteri: "Acı sos alabilir miyim?" İşletme: "Abi acı sos kalmadı. Müşteri: "Niye? O da mı günlük çıkıyor." İşletme: "Yok abi sosu aldığımız yer iki gündür getirmiyor."

Müşteri düşünür "Dünya genelindeki tedarik zinciri krizi buraya da yansıdı demek😳"...

Müşteri köftesini usulca yer. Sonra kasadaki diyalog...

İşletme: "Kart geçmiyor abi." Müşteri: "Sebep?" İşletme: "1,5 senedir böyle abi. Sadece nakit alıyoruz." Müşteri: "Banka ile sıkıntı mı yaşadınız?" İşletme: "Yok abi biz burada her gün müşteri ile sıkıntı yaşıyoruz. Nedenini bilmiyorum. Artık kart kullanmama...
