We had just eaten an amazing dinner next door at Pasa Kebab, and happened to see the kunefe available while passing by before dinner. We resisted ordering tea and dessert at Pasa dinner so that we could go back to this kunefe place we saw, and boy were we happy we stuck to that and dropped by! Other than tea, we ordered one serving of kunefe, 1 carrot-slice baklava and 1 carrot slice baklava with dondurma (my personal choice of course!) to share among the 4 of us. The young man serving kindly brought the cutest mini glass pitcher of milk with cute glass cups with our tea, which we didn’t think of but came in very handy for handling the sweets. The menu was also very nice and clear, big pictures of every order on the menu as well as the price next to it. I love mixing baklava/kunefe with dondurma/ice cream whenever I can, just like how in the U.S. we’re used to hot baked brownies/pizookies with scoops of nice cold ice cream, but unfortunately every time I’ve been to turkiye (in the last few years) it wasn’t as commonly available as I thought it’d be and whenever I have them together it’s usually by special/specific request upon order, not typically promoted on the menus. So I was very happy to see the baklava in the menu including dondurma (so not even just regular boring ice cream)! They are very generous with their servings, and also kindly reduced the (usually over drowning) syrup on our kunefe because we asked for “less sugar please”. The pistachios were a nice and fresh green with generous garnishing and filling, great and well balanced syrup taste (I’m Arab and also make this syrup + desserts at home so I know what’s up when it comes to this). You can also see the talented chef make and bake it all at the counter in front of you if you like (we were too busy in conversation at our table)! Also, the server was very kind and helpful (as were all the employees), he also spoke English well (and I can imagine some of other languages too) so they’re very dedicated to making all customers local or foreign feel welcome to enjoy their beautiful kunefe and more!
Side note: my family is not the easiest to please and we had absolutely no disappointments here! We also came after stuffing ourselves with great kebab next door so we weren’t anywhere near a hungry-so-everything-tastes-yummy-right-now mood. It was genuinely super yum!
Another side note: there is parking out front, but you may need to park further down the road depending on how busy it is between all the local businesses. You probably shouldn’t be terribly far though. It’s also right next to the waterfront so I wanna say it’s a 2-3 min walk to the water if you wanna digest with a healthy walk and...
Read moreThe kunefe (fistik, peynirsiz) was excellent. It took 30mins to make, on a busy weekday evening (excellent weather) in September, but it was very tasty, well done. A bit too much syrup, typical, easily poured off. Served hot as expected. The only issue is price: 70TL for a rather small portion. This we must compare with Efezade Kunefe in Antalya, our all-time favorite: 20TL for the same size, and quality. Yes, Fethiye is not Antalya, prices for everything here are higher... but not this high. A bit of a sting. And the only complaint.
Service was excellent, english, fast and friendly. Tables were clean, seats comfortable, plenty of outside and inside seating. WC available, clearly marked, clean and non-smelly. Menu selection is very good. Judging by full tables and mostly locals clients, this is indeed a very good...
