Went to Mado in the Venezia Complex on Wednesday night. Food was ok, but not worth the price. Dessert was good. Service was good also. But where things went from nice evening out, to bad then to worse was when someone decided to open the canopy over head. Many patrons including myself looked on as a stream of rainwater fell within centimeters of my girlfriend, her scarf, shoes and lower pant legs were not so lucky. The stream of water ran for about a minute. I had moved the table closer to myself to give her room to not get wet. With dessert still on the table about half eaten, the staff just stared. We couldn’t finish the dessert for we couldn’t tell if rainwater had splashed on it; when the bill came no discount was given. When asked to speak to manager, the manager came said no discount, the dirty canopy rainwater did not fall on the food and only my girlfriend’s scarf was wet and can dry. Forgetting about the dirty rainwater splashing on the floor wetting her shoes and lower pant legs, the fact that she had to move and I move the table to give her room to avoid being drenched. I was not asking for 100% discount, taking care of the dessert would’ve sufficed. You did nothing to compensate for your patron that nearly got soaked, for the carelessness of one of your employees. Horrible customer service. To the manager: how would you feel if this had...
Read moreI had the misfortune of dining at MADO in the Venezia Outlet, and it was hands down the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Right from the start, our waiter, Mustafa, was rude and arrogant. It felt as if he believed he was doing us a favor by taking our orders. His lack of basic courtesy was astonishing, and it completely overshadowed any potential enjoyment we could have had from our meal.
To make matters worse, we were charged a 10% service fee on top of our bill. Seriously? For what? A dismissive attitude and a total lack of hospitality? I've eaten at countless restaurants, and I've never encountered such a blatant lack of respect for customers.
This experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would highly recommend avoiding MADO at all costs. Save your money and your time and find a place where you'll actually be treated with respect. You'll thank...
