Gülor Wine Cave House - Cappadocia — Restaurant in Ortahisar Beldesi

While on vacation with my two sons we decided on a wine tasting, knowing that this region has an extensive wine culture. It wasn’t easy to find out the places who do actual wine tastings but we were so glad to discover this place! First, they walked us into a lovely room set up for our tasting. At first it was just going to be the two of us, then my older son decided to join us as well. Our wine guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We tried several different signature wines & they were all fantastic but our favorites were the Petite Verdot and the Savagnion Blanc. Best winery! We arrived without notice and the owner received us graciously. He offered us a free tasting of 6 wines and explained the different Turkish grapes (even the ones that weren’t part of the tasting). We bought an amazing wine for 1,600 lira, so worth it considering the experience and quality of the wines. Loved this winery. We booked this as part of a tour. We tasted 6 different wines, which were all lovely. We had a tour of the wine cave which was nice and cool. The wine seller was so friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us plenty of information about the wine, the winery, how the wine was made. We had chats about other aspects of life as well. We bought some wine to take home; for the quality the price was reasonable. Great experience overall....
