One of the best pide experience in Istanbul, maybe the best!
The place is cozy with respectful personnel. Perfect dough composure, quality and abundant ingredients for this price. Great cooking time to make the outside of the dough crunchy while keeping the meat juice inside. I would even say cheap as we all know the economic hardships in the country.
We ordered the cheese pide with an egg, minced beef meat closed pide, and kavurmalı closed pide. All were extremely delicious.
I discovered this place 20 years ago, during my studies at ITÜ Maslak campus, and hitherto never had an unpleasant experience. Pide Ban always served savory pides without sacrificing the quality from the day 1. The quality persistence of the place deserves standing ovation.
Some people complain about wait times but, the real order wait time is pretty fair. The Turkish pizzas take more baking time than Italian pizzas. The place was almost full although it was a week day.
Pide has always been overshadowed by Italian pizza. It’s because of lacking Turkish marketing mind, nothing else. This needs to be seriously considered.
The only downside of the place is that the servants do not take notes during you place the order. That’s why they brought one of our orders a bit late. We forgot to ask for more butter; they would bring more.

Read moreThis is easily the best place I know of to have PIDE. I have heard about this place and decided to go there as the weather was hot in Istanbul and we wanted anyway to cruise around with the ferry. We had one cheese pide with an egg on top and another pastry stuffed with minced meat. Both were extraordinary. The only problem is the location in Sariyer. One could like I did take a ferry from Eminönü (or Besiktas) to Sariyer. Depending where you get on board the trip could take up to 90 minutes. I think it´s a better option during the hot summer...

The pide was airy and full of flavour (and local butter), but the highlight was desert: rice pudding topped with toasted local hazelnuts. Pickled veg and tea were also served.
It's quite a large restaurant, so you always have a good chance of getting a table spontaneously. The restaurant is a "Bike Friendly" partner, so people in cycling gear are welcome and there is plenty of space to park bikes in front of...
