As a group of four, we visited Vino Locale and tried their October 2024 menu. Our overall experience was quite satisfying. To begin with, the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, and all the service personnel were friendly and knowledgeable. In terms of food, we tried all the menu except one starter. Starters were all great, but the complexity of Blue Tail Shrimp Gyoza made it the star for us. It was a great fusion of Asian and Turkish tasting notes. The creamy and delicious Potato Wafers are also worth mentioning. The only part that may be criticised as to the starters was that octopus in the -otherwise great octopus tom yum dish was a bit overcooked and chewy. The reason why we gave 4 stars is because of the two main dishes. Both of them were good but missing something that precluded them being great. Agnolott Del Pln & Brown Butter & Truffle was a great idea but missing some acidity, we thought a strong and acidic cheese could have made the dish perfect. Local lamb and jerusalem artichoke was also tasty - use of green apples in the dish was also amazing-, but due to way the meat was seasoned and the use of yogurt it standed out as if Beyti. We thought a little less complexity would better serve the good ideas behind the. dish. Finally, while lemon parfait was good, Chocolate & Pstacho & Lqueur Sorbet was one of the best deserts we had in a while. It was so complex and balanced! Also the pricing was fair for the quality of the resturant. Highly...
Read moreExcellent fine dining experience in the vineyards of Urla. The atmosphere when dining in the Mediterranean garden is cosy and romantic, tables are sufficiently spaced. Each of the 11 dishes of the tasting menu has its own character: some daring and creative, others signature classics. We were particularly positively surprised by the flavours and textures of the asparagus and pickle ice cream! The lemon parfait was absolutely delicious as expected. The staff were extremely friendly and supportive throughout the evening.
We were a bit unlucky that most tables around us were smoking, which mildly affected the culinary experience for us- however, seperating smoking and non-smoking areas may be difficult given the limited space. While we understood from the reservation details that certain (formal) attire was required, this policy did not seem to be enforced upon the arrival of guests- perhaps better to either stick to the policy or adjust accordingly, so guests have clarity on this beforehand (it was 36 degrees Celsius during our visit, so shorts would not have been redundant).
Overall, Vino Locale is an amazing, somewhat magical place to enjoy an outdoor fine dining experience in the Urla wine region. The atmosphere, hospitality, flavours are all carefully curated to facilitate your experience. Thank you and hope to...
Read moreThe Exterieur made me hope to return at a warmer time of the year immediately. It must be amazing to dine outside. Although the inside did not leave much to wish for either. High ceiling, cozy atmosphere and an open fireside. Absolutely excellent.
The service was very kind, warm and engaged. Really enjoyed it.
My favorite dish for the day was a celery variation. Amazing work. The shrimp gyazo convinced with a good texture and a sweet-chilli sauce. The potatoe was not the most exciting dish, but excellently made and a nice combination of different sauces.
The octopus in coco milk was not my favourite, but admittedly I am generally not the biggest octopus fan.
The main dish with Turkish truffle was an amazing experience and the truffle does not have to hide itself from its Italian counterpart. Being enriched by a good cause and a personal anecdote, the lemon parfait was a round finish for the evening. Extra points for the amazing sage kombucha!
In summary the dishes at vino locale were excellent craftsmanship and the setting was breathtaking. One thing that could, from my point of view, be improved, is being a bit more brave and experimental with the courses.
If I am in Izmir any time soon, I will definitely return. Thank you for a...
