Cafe Sofrito is a refined gem that delivers elegant dining in Komamboga, a vibrant and emerging hub for Kampala’s young, affluent middle class. The ambiance is tasteful, with warm lighting, clean décor, and a welcoming layout that strikes the right balance between modern and cozy.

Parking is convenient, with cheerful attendants setting a pleasant tone on arrival. A young waitress promptly and politely guided me to a good table, making for a smooth start to the evening.

The menu, however, could benefit from greater flexibility. I was seeking a low-carb option, and while the young waiter was helpful and attentive, the choices felt limited. I opted for fish and asked to replace the rice with salad. However, I was disappointed to find that avocado, for example — listed on the same salad in another menu item—was removed without an option to retain it. No alternative sauces were available in place of tartar either, which felt unnecessarily rigid for guests with dietary preferences.

The staff remained courteous, though some waitresses appeared fatigued or overstretched by the busy supper service. A more visible and hands-on floor manager or maître d’ could have made a noticeable difference in both poise and pace, improving overall coordination.

Still, Cafe Sofrito is great promise! A few of those finer adjustments would make it truly...

There is plenty of parking space, it’s easily found as it is just along side the road to komamboga. The place can be accessed by a wheelchair. They have good customer care services. And for my Muslim friend, they have no pork on their menu that’s why it’s one of the few places I eat from. The menu is just the same sweet feeling of Cj. The environment is nice welcoming and cozy. They have clean washrooms and the place is as quite as preferred by most people mostly at night. It operated upto around midnight for the time I was there. It’s also a good place for the family and friend diner. As well as...

Good internet connection. The service was great, and the food was okay, but nothing particularly special. The heat in the restaurant, requiring us to request air conditioning, was not the best part. Thank you for not playing music, as it creates an ideal environment for conversations and work. Great choice.

Café Sofrito is becoming my neighbourhood hideout for remote work. The waitresses are kind as well, and the washrooms are...

I loved the atmosphere and the service by a waitress called Shakira. We were a little disappointed by the first pizza we were served (hawaiien pizza) but they were very considerate and offered to make another pizza to replace the one that was not well cooked. I will definitely be back here.
