Title: Mixed Experience - Disappointing Food, but Friendly Staff

I recently visited the Retreat at Vogo Abu Dhabi hotel with a friend,and my overall experience was a mixed one. While the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the quality of the food was extremely disappointing.

We ordered the boneless chicken wings. I must say that they were among the worst chicken wings I have ever tasted. The sauce on the boneless chicken wings was overwhelmingly vinegary. The excessive acidity completely overpowered any other flavors that might have been present. It was an unappetizing dish. The sauce lacked balance and the chicken was very dry. To make matters worse, the crisps served with the chicken wings were clearly not fresh. It was evident that the pack had been opened several days ago, as the crisps had lost their crunchiness and tasted stale. It was disappointing to see such negligence, we returned the dish and ordered the crispy calamari! Regrettably, the dish left much to be desired and did not live up to our expectations.

The fried calamari was disappointingly overcooked and excessively oily and lacked the desired tenderness and succulence that one would expect. Instead, they were overly chewy and had a greasy texture that was rather off-putting. Additionally, the poor quality of the tartar sauce, it was runny and lacked the necessary balance of flavors.

While the staff continued to provide friendly and attentive service, the subpar quality of food overshadowed the overall dining experience. I sincerely hope that the management takes note of these concerns and takes steps to improve the preparation and execution...

The Retreat in Vogo, Abu Dhabi, has potential, but there are some significant issues. The lack of staff is immediately noticeable, leading to slow service and limited assistance. The hotel is currently under renovation, which adds to the inconvenience with rubble scattered on the paths.
