Worst experience ever I went with my family for dinner while I was staying in the resort I reserved seat by email and also by calling the reception they reserved it and never mentioned anything about the dress code I went with my wife and 2 daughters and son My wife was wearing a jeans and top my daughters shorts and T shirt and myself t shirt and jeans and my son shirts and T shirt but the big mistake was he was wearing T shirt without sleeves which they told is not allowed as per the dress code Then I pointed out that I was never informed about the dress code while making the reservation but they told it is written in front of the restaurant which I never saw , may be in small letters like the terms and conditions 😜 so they expect everyone to come read in front of the restaurant rather than informing over phone or in the email when they book in advance Then I pointed out that the lady sitting next table was also wearing sleeveless to which the manager replied for ladies gown with sleeveless is considered as not inappropriate and it is considered formal !!!! I was surprised with this reply This is the first time someone told me Like this Whatever it is when you go with a prior reservation it is mandatory to inform of the dress code if they are following one which the manager accepted and told will follow in future He was good enough to give us 20% discount on the bill as a goodwill since we went back to the room and changed the dress and came back But it does not correct the mood spoiled by the totally unprofessional attitude of the staff and experience and the thought process that people will accept unprofessional behaviour for cash discounts Will never visit this restaurant again !!
It is a black dot in an otherwise very good resort Hope the management will take corrective measures Especially the restaurant reception lady who was very rude...
Read moreBasilico is a great Italian restaurant located in The Cove Rotana Resort in Ras Al Khaimah. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with brown-brick arched ceilings and rich wooden furnishings. The open kitchen with live cooking stations adds to the theater of the dining experience.
The menu features a wide variety of Italian dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I started with the carpaccio, which was perfectly sliced and served with a delicious balsamic dressing. For my main course, I had spaghetti carbonara, which was creamy and flavorful. I finished my meal with the tiramisu, which was rich and decadent.
The service at Basilico was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure that we had everything we needed and that our meal was to our liking.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Basilico. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian meal in Ras Al Khaimah.

Read moreHad my birthday dinner at Basilico last week and enjoyed the overall experience and food. Of course, the atmosphere and scenic views from the terrace are outstanding and we were welcomed and served by the most friendly staff. Only points of attention and reason for the 3.5 stars: some dishes were prepared way too early and served in a hurry, so arrived cold, like the mashed potatoes or overcooked, like the tuna steak. I understand that Tuna is very delicate to cook, but a medium rare should never be served as well done. I didn’t finish it because it was completely dried out. Contrary, the tuna tartare ordered by some of my guests as a starter was top notch! We really had a good time. Just a bit more coordination and pro activity from the staff, so guests don’t have to pour their own wine, nor having to call a waiter to clear the empty plates half an hour after finishing their dish, will certainly get this place back to 5 stars. The food is definitely good, but at this price tag and in a 5 star hotel, some more attention for detail...
