Ritaj Restaurant Br. 2 — Restaurant in Musaffah

My quest for good Biryani is constant . Was in Abu Dhabi for work, so researched for the popular Biryani joints & many suggested this restaurant. I arrived at 3pm on a Thursday for lunch at the restaurant. They have a tiny simple sitting arrangement on the first floor while keeping the ground floor for takeaways & billing etc. Their kitchen is also on the ground floor.

The place although very chaste is quite clean. Even the wash basin area was very clean. In spite of being extremely busy, there were people queuing to eat, the place was literally chock-a-block we were given a table within 5 minutes of arriving.

I had read in many reviews people having issues with the service, in our case however service was exceptional. The servers were friendly, courteous, ready to recommend & help & service was quick in spite of a huge crowd.

Coming to the food we had ordered for Chicken Biryani, Chicken Methi & Roomali Roti. We simply loved the Chicken Methi so much so that we placed a repeat order. The Chicken Biryani failed to appease our taste buds totally. They use very good basmati rice, each grain of which was distinct, the Masala in the Biryani was ample yet the Biryani in general felt dry, lacked the quintessential aroma & even the chicken I thought had to be a little more tender. I had arrived with a lot of hope to savour a really good Biryani, which unfortunately was left in the lurch. I had a chat with the gentleman at the cash counter & conveyed the same to him. He was courteous enough to take my suggestion without showing any disdain which I truly appreciate. Also the quantity of Biryani is fairy large & the food is priced at pocket friendly rate.

Would I recommend this place for Biryani no, for Chicken Methi yes.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Our Favorite Restaurant As long time regular customers, we were absolutely shocked and disappointed by the recent visit we had. The service and overall experience were far from what we've come to expect. To start with, the delay in receiving our food was unacceptable. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but waiting for nearly 30 minutes for our meals to arrive is inexcusable, especially when we had come first to the restaurant when there wasn't that much rush and customers in the restaurant. The lack of communication from the staff regarding the delay only added to our frustration. There should be a rule of come first and serve first.

What further marred our experience was the attitude of the staff. Instead of being accommodating and understanding of our predicament, they seemed indifferent and disinterested. It's disheartening to see such a dramatic change in the staff's behavior, as we've always been treated with warmth and respect during our previous visits. The rudeness we encountered during this visit was both surprising and hurtful.

As regular customers, we feel let down and disheartened by the subpar service, the prolonged wait, and the uncharacteristically rude behavior of the staff. We hope that this was an isolated incident and that the management takes immediate steps to rectify...
