The Three Lums — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Went here with my wife and daughter for a treat lunch out. The barmaid was friendly and helpful even though they were short staffed and she was pressed for time.

Food wise, the portions were huge for lunch time, though the burgers were a bit dry. Didn't affect me so much as I had pulled pork in BBQ sauce on top of mine but my wife was disappointed, adding 2 packets of tomato sauce and mayo to bring some moisture to the meal.

My daughter's kids meal was fair in size but with an obviously frozen, and very "bready" pizza she didn't eat much.

Lattes, cappuccinos and a selection of teas were on the menu but when I went to order we were told we could have black or white coffee, or a black tea. Very disappointing.

Pudding was a much more impressive fare, my treacle pudding (although a syrup sponge), was delicious, with plenty of custard on the side. My wife's warm brownie was amazing, and in fact so chocolatey and rich that we had to split it between the three of us just to finish it. Dessert was the redeeming feature of the meal.

Thought we would try Three Lums for a change but won't be back. The atmosphere was good with friendly bar staff, service was okay. We ordered two starters fried chicken and hunter chicken nachos and two skillets one chicken fajitas and one jerk chicken skewers. The chicken starter needed a hack saw to cut through, dry tiny portion with no garnish, rhe nachos the worst I have ever eaten, bacon was burnt, chicken blow torched. The mains came out on a skillet but not a sizzle between them, the vegetables were green including the onions,soggy and limp looked like they had been cooked the day before, chicken on fajitas burnt to a cinder and the cheese had been sitting so long in the kitchen it was hard and inedible, guacamole was a slice of unripe avocado . The chicken skewers were so charred they were beyond edible and they were sent back. By the time the jerk chicken was returned and they were actually OK, the chicken fajitas were left half eaten. Terrible meal and doubt if it was cooked by a chef or anyone who was even qualified to describe themselves as someone who could cook at all. Won't be recommending and wont be...

This is my favourite restaurant, it has good food at great prices. HOWEVER, One time I went I was with friends, me and another friend payed together and my 2 other friends payed together, when we asked for the desserts my 2 friends that payed together got theirs and my friend and my didn't, so after about half an hour we asked what was happening and one of the waitresses said that she asked the kitchen to put the orders together.
