There is a phrase of "I could eat the rotting legs off a dead horse" and I think i just have, ordered the house special sweet and sour Hong Kong style and was provided with a mass of fat and "prawns" in batter that was delicately smothered in what I would say is home pride jar sauce, now let's move on to the Kung Pao "pork", usually the pork of char siu is a slight pink shade with a bright red exterior and the king pao sauce is spicy and fragrant with a nice colour to it, what I received was what seemed to be an end cut of some supermarket sandwich beef and a selection of vegetables purchased on clearance as they were turning. as a result of our meal I have spent most of the night sounding like the brass section and producing enough gas the americans have sent me an email asking if they can tap the source. They still appear to show a hygiene rating of 5 but i doubt that to be accurate, most of today will be in the fetal position and not far from the bathroom, DO NOT buy from here if you like the integrity of your bowels or, if you are after actual fresh cooked Chinese food that uses Chinese ingredients,...
Read moreWe had a flyer through the door today, so thought we’d try this out. I have a sesame allergy so I just wanted to query their allergy menu, it’s really important and something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. I noticed on there that sesame prawn toast indicates there is no sesame at all. See photos. Playing devils advocate I asked about this and was told I can’t have it, which seems fair but my question was how can I know if sesame is in anything else if things aren’t labelled correctly. I don’t think the lady understood me so instead, I asked if anything else at all in the menu contains sesame and she had no idea, seemed quite frustrated about me asking these questions. So I guess if you don’t have allergies you’ll be fine but for anyone with allergies, this could be a real hazard for you. I’d hate to see a news story go viral down to something so simple. Its actually a legal requirement for food establishments to correctly label all allergy risks....
Read moreThe staff are very friendly and polite but some of the food was awful. The meat did not really resemble chickin at all in my chicken based dishes, it didn't seemed to be cooked properly. The texture did not feel right and for the very first time in my 33 years I was actually questioning if it was even chicken meat! It was my first time at this take away as I had a menu posted through my door. I was drawn to the fact that they do Thai based dishes but again the quality was not there compared other Chinese takeaways that cook this that I have tried. There a much better Chinese take aways if you are going to order from the Selston area. If you live there try shung hing in Kirkby. Far superior food. Wish I could get a refund...
