My company booked us to stay overnight in the accommodation above the restaurant, had we known that they were going to book us on a 2nd time we’d have declined as our first stay wasn’t the best. The rooms were dirty- the skirting boards were inches thick of dust, the walls covered in marks and the furniture was full of dust when drawers opened to put away clothes and the carpets stained. Whilst the bed was comfy the bedding was clearly very much used as when we got inside the sheet was all bobbly and rough to touch- that said the bed itself was very comfortable. The exit door at the top of the stairs, whilst we appreciate it has to have an arm on it ensuring it closes, continually banged and woke us up every time someone exited/arrived meaning we had very disturbed sleep and seeing as all the smokers were in and out constantly the banging of the door was often. Speaking of smokers the entrance to the accommodation resembled an ash-tray, hundreds of cigarette buts littered the floor which quite frankly gives the impression of uncleanliness. Finally speaking of cleaning, our 2nd visit, which was this week, I was given a different room to which I found when I first used the toilet a spattering of faeces present and the same stains on the carpet, dirty drawers , curtains that would not only let all light in but would not close either and the couple that were in the room I’d stayed in last week stayed up until 3am meaning again we did not sleep.|The only positive I can give you is the gentleman who greeted us, I’m sorry I don’t remember his name, was very nice and friendly but frankly i wouldn’t recommend the accommodation to anyone as it was neither clean, value for money or have breakfast facilities meaning the business travelling community then have to find alternatives following a...

Read moreVery good, from the personal greeting when we arrived through to the detailed description of the gins available in the bar whilst we waited to be seated at our table.
A short wait accompanied by a double lime gin and slimline tonic and a glass of fruity Merlot. After fifteen minutes we were shown to our table, nearly 9.30 and the number of guests started to thin. The restaurant was very, very busy when we arrived. The service was excellent and the restaurant is still relatively new but the local interest doesn't seem to have dwindled at all. It seems well supported by locals and regulars who were on first name terms with the staff.
I opted for the crab risotto with monkfish medallions. A light and not too guey risotto, creamy and flavoursome with three tasty pieces of monkfish - my absolute favourite, it's just a shame that it's not more readily available. My wife opted for the sirloin steak, cooked rare, and just right. It had a ragu sauce, a little strong and over powering. The steak could easily have stood alone. Lightly chargrilled with a hint of pepper and salt. A glass, well two actually, of Sauvignon Blanc accompanied my risotto whilst my wife had a glass of Temperanillo.
I chose the desert of meringue, raspberry ice cream and fresh fruit. The meringue was just right, a combination of light and fluffy crisp shell with a slightly chewy centre - just right.
Fino is a very nice restaurant. The staff are so friendly and enthusiastic. A good addition to the local economy and a short walk of twenty to thirty minutes from Felpham village centre.
It's obviously very popular. We had to book on Friday for our visit on Saturday evening. There's plenty of parking at the front and rear of the restaurant for those less enthusiastic...
