I am giving 3 stars because... Me and my partner are regular customs for breakfast and we 9/10 times we have the best experience. We normally get served by Claire and she is always AMAZING - service with a smile :)
One day we decided to try lunch at the café on a weekend, and as soon as we walked in we felt uncomfortable as the atmosphere and staff was different, it didn't feel like the nice café we normally go to.
We sat down and all the staff members looked at us and chose to ignore us, we had to ask for service and was told that they can serve us at our table if we want them too (this has never happened before and we always get someone come to us to take our order just after we sit down), the waitress took our order and we waited for our food as usual but she said she would bring our drinks over right away... she never did (walking past us multiple times again) we had to ask someone else if we could have our drinks!
While waiting for our meal, I saw an elderly lady in the kitchen looking around the café, she saw me and shouted across the café to ask if we had been served (Terrible customer service from her in my opinion)
Eventually we got our food but I didn't get everything I asked for, my bacon was fatty - which I specified I did not want it to be and I didn't get my extra hash brown I ordered to replace and item, when I asked if the bacon can be crispy, the waitress went to the kitchen and stood in view of me, I assumed she asked if they can do it crispy but all I saw as a reaction was smug faces (as if I asked a very stupid question) I was not impressed!!
When we finished our food, we went up to pay, we waited at the till for about 2 mins before the staff finished their conversation about NETFLIX before we even got served, I asked to split the bill 50/50 and the same girl who severed us said "What do you mean?" at this point I was so anxious to be there and I said that I just want to leave and this has not been a good experience, after I said this in panic, the girl started to add up the items on a calculator really really slowly.
Other then this experience I have no issues apart from the tiny bit of attitude I get from certain staff members.
I would like to repeat myself in saying that Claire is amazing and has never said or done...
Read morePagham beach cafe is a old, well established family run business along side the shop, ice cream parlour and amusement arcade, and car park, in the out of season time it is usually free, holiday times it's usually £3 or £5 all day ( not bad in this day and age ) in fact if the family wasn't there it would be a very different place to visit. The food is well cooked, from an extensive menu, the family and staff are pleasant and friendly, there is seating inside and across the road out side table and chairs, also for the last couple of years they have built sit in railway carriage type eating places, out of the wind etc. very pleasant indeed 👍. The cafe is open every day of the YEAR, only except for Christmas Day which I expect they have a day off. Some may think the prices are a tad high, but you have to think about suply and demand, so overall it's not too bad. The shop is well stocked with everything you will need to be at the seaside, the amusement arcade is also well presented with modern and older generation gaming machines, although now 2 pence, not the old penny ( such is life nowadays ) but it can still take you back in time. All in all, you can take time out and enjoy yourself for two or three hours, be well fed, a vast selection of ice cream at the parlour and then spend the rest of your time in the arcade. Afterwards you can then enjoy Pagham Beach 🏖️, see my...
Read moreI was taken here for breakfast by a friend. The first interaction was negative. We knew they weren't dog friendly. We stood outside the entrance to ask for a menu. The first words from female member of staff, you can't bring the dog in. We said we were aware but just wanted a menu as we were going to sit outside. My choice was a standard English breakfast comprising of 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 egg, beans, tomato and toast/fried bread. I have a severe egg allergy which potentially could be fatal. My friend went to place the order and explained that due to my egg allergy could the egg be swapped for a rasher of bacon. He was told "we don't swap, you'll have to pay for extra bacon". He was charged the normal price of £8.95 for a standard breakfast plus an additional £3.75 for a single rasher of bacon. The was no reduction of price for egg I didn't have but was included in the cost of thebreakfast. To add insult to injury, the breakfast was served on cold plates. We certainly won't be returning or...
