Serving Thyme — Restaurant in Arun

Shame there is a limited vegan offering, asked if I could have toast at 11.40, as it was the only thing I could have, even though it was on the breakfast menu which finished at 11.30, the guys behind the counter said it was no problem, until this woman in a flowery blouse appeared from the gift shop with an entourage, to rudely tell the guys it was not allowed and not to serve it, not once did she address me, just spoke rudely to the staff... Last laugh on her though, they still did it as they said it was two slices of toast and not a problem! Golden rule, do not tell staff off in front of the customers! 10/10 for the guys behind the counter who put customer service first! On another note have a few more vegan choices, ie cakes,...

I have nothing but praise for Serving Thyme. Not only do they serve great food and coffee but today they excelled themselves. I fell off my bike near to them and badly hurt my knee. I managed to cycle to them where they asked their first aider to assist me. She was excellent, washing and dressing the wound and advising me to go to A&E. My husband got me to A&E where I had stitches. The staff at Serving Thyme were very attentive, asking if I needed anything and making sure I was okay. Love it. Such a nice little cafe, serving coffee, soft drinks, cakes, confectionery and some hot and cold food (including kids lunchboxes), and a fridge of ice creams too. Plenty of seating inside and out - which turned out to be a nice little sun trap when I was there! There are the beginnings of a 'nursery' / garden centre there (although it is still under construction at the time of posting), and also an area designated for children, although still awaiting some playground furniture I suspect. Guide dogs welcomed, but other dogs/ furry friends are permitted...
