The Fox Inn, Patching — Restaurant in Arun

Me and my partner viewed this place to be the venue for our wedding reception, from the very start they were excellent! Louisa (sorry if misspelled) sat down with us and discussed our options and costs and we left very confident that we had found our venue. Everything was finalised and booked, contact was kept frequently and any hiccups/issues were discussed and resolved very quickly.

Now to the big day...

We arrived on time to be met with a wonderfully presented marquee and a much needed very stocked bar, due to reasons of our own doing we were slightly behind our intended schedule but when it came to the food everything was spot on. We opted for a bbq style meal with burgers, sausages, chicken and bbq ribs and ofc some greenery, we also had a vegi option which was slightly delayed compared to the meats but I can only assume that's down to just how busy they were (pub was packed plus our 70 guest event). Food was amazing everyone complimented how nice it was and many had full bellies and took notes for their own future possible events, the staff were very helpful when we had queries and were happy to listen to my drunken family waffling about there life problems 🤣

This pub truly is lovely as are the staff so if you are thinking about having a birthday party or need a reception for your big day then this is your spot! Quality of service and the quality of food is excellent for the price we paid. We will be returning for a drink or bite to eat in the future and will be referring people should they be in need of a venue.

This pub is perfect for a young family looking for an afternoon eatery. The generously sized garden & play area is a god send for children who don't enjoy waiting for food which helped on our most recent visit as the staff were overwhelmed by a day of good weather coinciding with a mother's day weekend. The staff were fantastic & handled the busy period in an exceptionally calm manner which left us feeling reassured that food would be on its way, eventually!! When it did arrive, the food tasted a world away from the generic, greasy, chain pub food most of us expect/become used to these days. I enjoyed the cottage pie off of the specials menu & it was as special as promised, beautifully meaty, beautifully mashy, beautifully cheesy & beautifully massive!! 😯 Value for money! Could've fed the four of us. My son tried, for the first time, ham, egg & chips & said he "really liked that lunch". He also managed to consume the salt & pepper squid & half his brothers cheeseburger, concluding that it was one of his favourite lunches ever. Only second to a burger in Spain! 🤣 I've grown up on visits to this pub & it just consistently creates...

Booked a table for 5 of us outside, good start. Went inside to order food, to be told the kitchen was closed and no more orders can be taken until they had caught up with the back log of people waiting. We were disappointed to say the least. They'd taken our booking but couldn't supply food...!! We had a drink, we decided to try and find somewhere else. Hard on a Sunday! Then after about 20 minutes waiting, a nice lady came over to us and took our order, and just said kitchen was open again. We did order...not knowing what to expect. Food arrived quite quick 30 mins or so, TBH our food was lovely, piping hot and very tasty. I think it's a nice place, but seems very chaotic, the waiting staff are all young adults, our little waiter couldnt get the veg off the tray as it was too hot he said...the menu is way too large, if they made that shorter maybe serve just Sunday roasts and a couple of other choices, this would have been more controlled. All in all, apart from the start it was OK. We would give it another go. It's dog...
