I was on holiday in Kent over the weekend celebrating life with my partner and we were recommended to visit this little pub.

I was greeted by a nice bar staff member who explained to me at exactly 8:24 that the pub was still serving food and would be until 9. I was undecided as to whether to eat so I said to her that I would make my mind up by 8:45.

At which point the landlord sneered at me and told me that I would NOT be ordering at 8:45, that the kitchen would be closing soon and that I would need to order NOW because I was holding the kitchen up.

Surprised as I was I returned to my table feeling like a told off child.

Clearly this irked me over the next few minutes so I returned to the bar to make my complaints.

At first it seemed he refused to come back and talk to me about his behaviour, he seemed to be hiding at the other end of the bar. He sent his wife out who gave me the weakest apology I have ever heard from a human being and proceeded to tell me he 'had a bad day'. Diddums.

In my world if I have a bad day I don't take it out on my customers. I still wasn't happy so I asked to speak to him directly. He came over and whilst the words 'sorry' did come out of his mouth he immediately proceeded to justify himself by saying he was just 'telling me how it is'. This guy is so miserable that he feels the need to implicate his customers in his issues about a kitchen being open for a few more minutes. If he had just asked me nicely I wouldn't have minded when I order. His attitude was poor. He strikes me a a deeply unhappy fellow who is unable to article things properly so ends up getting mad.

I asked for a refund for my drinks because I was quite pissed off but they wouldn't give me one 'as the drinks were already open' (of course it's a bar and you serve them open einstein).

Both the landlord and the landlady are; in my eyes vacuous characters who strike me as terribly miserable and stuck up.

If you want my advice go and visit the Bull-in (Penendon) which is just a 5 minute drive. We walked in and the owner couldn't have made us feel...

We had some close friends come down to visit us and decided to pop into the Bull Inn at Rolvenden for some lunch, we hadn't booked in advance, fortunately they were kind enough to find us a table for 4. Our waitress was Jemma and she was absolutely fantastic, great sense of humour and incredibly pleasant and extremely efficient, wonderful young lady. The Bull Inn is dog friendly so that was an added bonus as our friends didn't want to leave their two dogs in the car as it was quite a hot day, Jemma even brought out two little dishes of assorted dog biscuits after taking our orders and bringing our drinks to the table, impeccable service. We were very impressed with the great selection of food on the menu, we asked if it would be possible to change a few items, this was no trouble at all, very accommodating and at no extra charge. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection! I have attached some photos of the food we ordered, hopefully these speak for themselves as to the generous portions and the lovely presentation, really enjoyed our meal at the Bull Inn at Rolvenden, lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend this as an affordable place to eat out, look forward to visiting again in the future. 10 out of 10 in...

I have passed by this pub quite often and always wanted to go there. We went in on. 8/8/22. It was quite the tables quite spread out. The waitress was lovely. She had dark hair but i didnt see her name. We had a starter and main and drinks. I had prawn cocktails and john had soup of the day. The food was extremely well presented and the portion size was good too. I was really impressed with that for the main john had jerk chicken and i had fish and chips. My fish and chips were really good batter was nice fish lovely and fresh. And the portion was great size well worth the money. Johns jerk chicken was lovely spicy but unfortunately he could not eat it there as he was feeling unwell (he is under going chemo) i asked the waitress could i take it away. She said definitely and put it in little takeaway trays. And john ate it later on. The waitress was absolutely lovely and i will be going back again. May be for breakfast before i go to work. Thank you for the fabulous food and drinks and making us feel...

My wife and I visited Kent and the surrounding areas for a few days and found this lovely pub! Kate was our server, she was very welcoming and friendly and even helped us with attractions we could visit nearby 😁 The food was amazing! There is such a variety: you have the normal pub grub options plus specials from around the world. I had sweet and sour chicken being very adventitious and I kid you not, better than any Chinese restaurant / takeaway. You can taste quality ingredients vs the local Chinese which we all know can be very greasy….. this wasn’t!!! My wife ordered their Garlic Chicken with Chips which reminded us of a visit to Greece a few years ago. It was so tasty - not a vein to be seen in the chicken DELICIOUS!!! Finally if you are a cider fan like me, they serve Apple Shed which is a lovely medium to dry never tried before and recommend!

They managed to give us a table for 12.30 at short notice as we'd heard good things about their Sunday roast. We arrived early and were seated. Our drinks arrived promptly and we ordered 2 roasts and a liver and bacon. Absolutely delicious food and good value for money. £14.95 for a roast. The server informed us what roasts were on as there's no Sunday menu. Me and my mum shared the vegetable plate and there was more than enough. Really tasty beef and pork, roast potatoes and gravy. Will definitely return. Good idea to book and it was getting busy with people eyeing up a table only to find it was reserved. Worth the drive from ashford!
