Great little pub with an interesting history. They serve great local beers on tap and the food as you can see in the pic below is top notch and well deserving of a visit. Even a special request for a Hot Chocolate was whipped up in the kitchen topped with cream and greatly enjoyed. We just stopped in as we were in the area but will be back.

The country pub, with an open fire and a wood burner, garden for the summer and chickens! It's what a country pub is, with a lovely Landlord and Landlady. Bar staff know the beers and ales and what's going on in the community. Booming WiFi too. Lovely views across the fields from the front.

Fantastic home cooked food at a reasonable price. With good choice of well kept real ale. Highly recommended.

If you’re after a classic country pub with no frills, just timeless charm and great food, The Wheatsheaf is the place to go. This old-fashioned gem is full of character, with its rustic interiors, warm ambiance, and a proper traditional pub vibe.

The menu stays true to its roots, offering comforting, classic dishes without the need for modern twists. I tried the fish and chips, and it was everything you’d hope for—crispy, golden batter encasing tender, flaky fish, served with perfectly cooked chips. It’s hearty, satisfying, and exactly what a pub meal should be.

Dog lovers will especially appreciate The Wheatsheaf, as it’s wonderfully dog-friendly. After a countryside stroll, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, with water bowls and even treats available for your four-legged companions.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in maintaining the warm, inviting feel of the pub. Whether you’re looking for a classic meal, a pint in a cozy setting, or somewhere to bring your dog, The Wheatsheaf is a...

Went to the Beet Beer and Blues Festival.(15 to 27 July) for first time. Fab time. Good music. Good beer, ales and cider outside with bought tickets (much easier) but cash in pub for wines and food etc... You could camp on site for event weekend. The food was good burgers, beetroot burgers, sausages and shroom buns (mushroom). All well thought out arranged and just soooo great to see people enjoying all. The owners are great people too! They've been there a good few years... It's a great place/pub which we've visited over the years too....

Fish and chip Friday! Amazing piece of cod at an unbeatable price in a proper pub..... No swanky setting but as good a food as any high end restaurant. Properly homemade everything with Amazing flavour. Faultless from start to finish and some really good ale selections kept to an extremely high standard. Cider, lager and wine available along woth a huge selection of spirits, especially rum and gin. Don't...
