Booked a table for 7 people for a meal on a Saturday evening. On arrival we was greeted by a smartly dressed rude young man, who showed us to our table. We was literally the only people in the restaurant at 6pm. The starter was very average, the main was Cajun chicken, however it was a chicken breast fillet saturated in a greasy tomato and cheese sauce and a little basket of chips on a large plate. After the disappointment of the main course I asked a young waitress what the Cheesecake of the day was? She replied, I don't know! After 10 minutes she came back to the table to clear our plates and said, cheesecake is raspberry cheesecake and then disappeared. The service was shocking! The woman on the till at the bar didn't know how to run our order through, the young man working behind the bar looked like he just didn't want to be there! I eventually ordered the Cheesecake and that was dry and very disappointing. All in all, would I go again.....NO! Meal was below average, and service was poor. The venue was pleasant but the windows could do with clean on the inside. So now the cost! 3 people, below average meal, poor service, 5 drinks £155.20 I would definitely not recommend visiting the restaurant, it was sort of Sizzler, Green king pub food but overpriced. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying for quality food and service, but after visiting The Burntwood I felt sort of robbed and out of pocket, a little bit like buying a faulty product but unable to return it....
Read moreFood very nice and a very nice atmosphere too. The service polite but extremely slow and disorganised. We all ordered within about 3 mins difference from eachother and all got food at different times with about 20 min difference . And we had to also remind them about other food items we ordered to finally get them to our table. Also we ordered some tea at the end, after 25min waiting we asked if it’s getting made and they chased it up and then after it got served we got wrong teas and no spoons to stir them and all. I got my drink in a plastic cup too? Service in general was very polite and in a way professional but it felt like something is wrong with their system as them seemed to have absolutely no control over what’s been ordered, it was bizarre with how out of any control it was. And the place was mostly empty too so not like there was much room for error here. So yeah in general I definitely recommend this place for the food and atmosphere and polite service and I will most likely come back here again. When you come here though expect a very long wait for any item you order (even drinks) and you may have to remind them what...
Read moreCame in June for a meal with friends. I ordered Nachos to start and the lasagne for a main.
We ordered at the bar separately, there were 4 of us and we were all brought our food a few minutes apart. Two members of the party were halfway through their food by the time mine arrived. Other people were being served their food at otber tables I'm the restaurant whilst we waited for the entire table to be served our dishes. I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that we ordered at the bar separately, but as we all had the same table number I had hoped it would come at the same time.
The food was tasty and hot when it arrived, although I found it to be rather pricey for what is basic pub grub. £15.50 for a Lasagne is a little pm the pricey side considering this isn't a fancy restaurant and that you don't have table service.
After we ate we took our drinks and sat in the lounge area which was lovely. It is also adults only which was nice. The settess and single seat comfy chairs made for a cozy environment to relax...
