just had Sunday dinner..never again , these people cannot cope with large group bookings.some of our group had finished their meal and others hadn't got there's! !! The food was not up to standard. The beef was horrible god knows who their suppliers are.The lady who saw to our bill was incredibly rude and as no customer service skills at all she embarrassed my family by insisting the monies paid was incorrect, so a family member relented and paid..on returning home we worked the bill out and indeed we had over paid..we then phoned up and was apologised to because indeed the person had made a mistake.and could we call in to collect over payment! !!!!what a absolute farce. ..the staff made my family feel like scum , we have never been treat so appalling. Hope they're proud of themselves ruining our family day out.
I see I have a response have I touched a nerve by any chance. If you read my other reviews you will see that I have never wrote anything malicious liable or detrimental. If you read the review properly I never said you shouted I said you were rude WHICH CLEARLY YOU ARE WITH THIS RESPONCE, I never commented on your staff you did, The reason they were poorly organized was not down to them but poor management and education, the reason my family gave a tip was out of politeness and sympathy for your youngsters, I suggest you have a trip to the Burntwood court hotel who employ lots of youngsters who are properly taught customer service and are correctly managed and also serve great food. As for pre ordering I could understand your comments if we were eating off the menu but we wasn't we were having Sunday dinner, all of us !!! what choice was there, REALLY! please come up with a better response for your inadequacies than that, and it wasn't up to my family to sort the bill it was YOU!!! To be honest I'm shocked at your response seen as I'm clearly not on my own with my rating. oh and on another note my brother in law is not comfortable with complaining or confrontation, I on the other hand will say when needed, I will not respond further I am not on Facebook, and I will not be frequenting you establishment any time soon. If your business fails it is solely your fault not mine, you need to learn take criticism as constructive and...
Read moreI wasn’t going to post a review of this place, as I have seen a lady called Jeanette post a review which pretty much summed up my opinion on this establishment. Poor food quality, terrible organisation skills, very impolite staff and the food came out at different times. My partners food came out, and then it took at least another 5 minutes for mine to arrive on the table, and when it did it was only room temperature, however when trying to explain this to a member of staff they seemed far too busy to even care. No offer of a discount, a replacement meal, or even a complimentary drink on the house as a gesture of goodwill. I’m not one to write reviews, as a lot of the time I see it as a platform for people to just moan, however after reading the comments from other customers who were voicing similar views as myself and then reading the response which they got back was sickening. How dare you speak to a paying customer in that manner?? We are the people that keep businesses like yourself going. So when you tell someone that they ‘didnt feel like they were being treat scum’ I find this absolutely ridiculous. How on earth do you know how people feel?? If I were to come up to you and say that I felt as if my meal was unsatisfactory and you turned around and told me that I didn’t infact feel that way- trust me, I would NOT have been impressed. You have absolutely terrible customer service as some of these reviews highlight and word of mouth. I have been to many different established in my time and in the line of work that I do, I know plenty about customer service. To which your staff and quite clearly yourself have none of. I’d like to say that I would return and give it another go, because it’s such a lovely building- however I know that this place will be shut down in the very near future. This place needs new management and new staff, all of which trained to the highest of standards. Such a shame to see what this place has become. If I could have given no stars then I would have. Or I would given you half a star and then made you wait for the other half- as this is clearly in practice...

My partner and I were looking for places to eat and have date night and we stumbled on this beautiful place. We love old buildings and the history behind them and when we pulled up and into the car park, it was just beautiful! The dining area was stunning...the whole time we were there we kept spotting different and quirky things and that in itself was good.
STAFF The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in. There was no waiting about and we were shown to our seats straight away. They introduced themselves but not just themselves but the other members of staff on and who was serving behind the bar. They made us feel very welcome. Thanks Amelia!
FOOD We shared the Mediterranean Bruscetta with goats cheese (I'm not really a fan of goats cheese but I ate it) as a starter and believe me when I say, it was more than enough...for us anyway. So I went for the Trio of Lamb which was Lamb Shoulder, Lamb Cutlet and a Lamb Rump served with minted mash, roast carrots and parsnip, tender stem broccoli and cabbage. Put it this way, I finished the lot! It was so tasty 🤤 My partner went for the Beef Wellington, tenderstem broccoli, carrots and normally served with mash but Luke asked for chunky chips instead. The beef wellington was done to perfection (medium) and the chips were homemade!! All of the veg were done perfectly, al dente which is how we have our veg.
There is not one bad word I can say about this beautiful place. Luke and I have found our new favourite eating place and will definitely be visiting again to try something else on the menu! We have raved about it to everyone for days!
Thank you to all the staff for making our visit warm and welcoming...See you...
