Ordered the lunch deal here on mine and my friends lunch break, three sandwiches and a salad. Two of the sandwiches were the same, only one of those came out after nearly 20 minutes of waiting, no sign of the other duplicate sandwich. Asked where the rest of our lunches were and 15 minutes later the chicken salad came out (tasted like warmed up packaged chicken) after another 10 minutes we again asked where our food was. In which we were told the chef is new and therefore slow.. Because of how slow it was, the other 2 sandwiches and 2 portions of chips (we only received one portion) and had to be packed up to go, and later eaten cold. I had the beef sandwich with red onion chutney, the chutney was very nice but the sandwich was filled more with that than the beef!

We popped in for a bite to eat at lunch time and I have to be honest, I wish we had gone somewhere else. My wine was warm. It was almost unbearably loud. The food we ordered took over 50 mins to arrive with no apology. My husbands mixed grill was overcooked, dry and the steak was inedible. My biggest complaint was the "salt and pepper chilli chicken". It was advertised as Breaded chicken with a salt, pepper and chilli spice mix, roasted onions and peppers and a herb dressing with a pot of Katsu curry sauce. What arrived was plain breaded chicken goujons, undercooked chips and a scattering of fried onions. No salt, pepper, seasoning or red peppers and nothing like what was advertised. Took my daughter here for her bday today. First they had no ice, then no glasses, no cold bottled cider. Ordered our meals and told they had no onion rings ( not an issue for us). Meals finally arrived with no salad and there should have been salad on the plates. No Tartar sauce with the scampi. I have no idea why they cannot get it right in this pub. We have given them so many chances to improve. The excuse was the delivery didn't arrive yesterday. No excuse as far as I'm concerned. Sainsburys is directly opposite. We did complain and got a meal off our bill. I would much rather have had a nice meal with our daughter for her bday.
