*Updated as Iāve ordered from here several times since - the best pizzas in Basingstoke by far (prices have gone up a bit but the quality is great)
Ordering Popped in around lunch-time on a Saturday as I wanted to see a menu as they didnāt have a website when I checked. The owner got chatting to me straight away and he was very welcoming. I placed an order for takeaway (pizza, bruschetta and wings) with one of the staff who answered some of my questions. After waiting a couple minutes the owner came over and explained that wings take a while to prepare (around 30 minutes from fresh as they go in the oven and then get barbecued), he apologised that the server didnāt make this clear and rectified with a free hot drink. The whole order took around 35 minutes probably due to the wings as explained as the restaurant was empty.
Food Food was in decent quality takeaway boxes and we only live round the corner so it travelled well apart from the pizza sticking to the box a bit. Pizza itself is very thin which we both enjoy. Edges looked slightly burnt but flavour was great, my husband was really impressed and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the sauce flavour is. Really good light and crispy dough. Bruschetta was pretty tasty but perhaps a tad overpriced for around £5 for a rather small piece. The chicken wings were very good, definitely fresh as they were crispy but still juicy. Flavouring is very neutral as they rely of the flavour of the char on it which is very nice but worth considering. Overall, we were happy with our meal and the service and look forward to trying takeaway/click and collect. We are excited to see a new business opening in Chineham and seeing how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur department went for lunch here for a colleague's farewell. Everyone ordered pizza except for one person, who ordered a chicken burger. We waited 40 minutes for the food - luckily we had our Director with us so didn't have to explain why we were so late back from work lunch, but we would have been questioned about it if we had gone on our own. The pizza was amazing, there was so much cheese, quality ingredients esp the bacon, absolutely delicious. I felt sorry for the colleague with the burger though, it was basic just a piece of chicken (big quality piece though) slapped on to a dry roll, no lettuce, no tomato, no sauce, nothing. He seemed to enjoy it though. The room is big and everyone's voice echoes. Colleagues on the ends of the table couldn't hear eachother. I was intrigued by the karaoke screen in the corner, but wondered when this happens, I didn't think the place was open in the evenings. I would return for the quality food and the service was friendly, but maybe with a smaller group, so we can have food faster, and hear...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI decided to give Pizzeria Gali a try last night after a few people were talking about it. Well I wasn't disappointed.
The pizza had the most amazing dough and the toppings were quality. The chicken wings were cooked on a BBQ and the crispy skin was the best. So good! The service was exceptional, the team really made me feel welcome and were accommodating to my requests.
The interior of the restaurant simple but tastefully done. Can't wait to visit again, this time we will eat in.
I also had a beer while I waited which was very nice and very cold and the wait was no more than 5-10 minutes for my food.
I would highly recommend Pizzeria Gali and we will be using this place as our go to pizza restaurant and takeout in Basingstoke. This is what Basingstoke has been...
