Starbucks — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

Much better when this Basingstoke Sainsbury's Starbucks was a café. Staff don't want to be friendly, and come across as unable and unwilling to make small talk. Sliding glass entry doors make it cold to the point of uncomfortable. It's too big, too expensive, seating is uncomfortable and chairs, tables and floor were dirty - swept but needed a thorough clean. Is this the standard expected? Although the toilets are Sainsbury's, they're shared with Starbucks, and on this occasion these were also disgusting - wine bottles and food wrappers in the sinks, only one toilet fit to be used and with toilet paper. I love a Starbucks but this venue is way too big and lacks atmosphere and coziness My biggest complaint is no matter when I go into this cafe nearly if not all the tables are laden with dirty cups and plates. There never seems to be anyone clearing and wiping the tables no matter how many staff are on duty. Personally I think the first rule to an eating and drinking establishment is cleanliness. Stopped in for a coffee with a friend before taking her shopping in thr sainsbury's next door as she'd recently has surgery and wasn't getting out much. She wanted some time away from the same four walls and all that..... However, just got an £85quid parking fine. Way to encourage return custom - GO COUNCIL!
