I visited The Pelican Pub in Tadley with a friend last week and we had a great time. The pub is located in the heart of Tadley, and it has a very traditional and cozy interior. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they were happy to recommend dishes to us based on our taste. We both tried the fish and chips, and it was delicious. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. We also enjoyed the atmosphere at The Pelican Pub. It was a great place to relax and chat with friends, and it was also lively enough to enjoy a few drinks and watch the football. Overall, we had a great time at The Pelican Pub, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Here are some of the pros and cons of The Pelican Pub: Pros:
Traditional and cozy interior Friendly and welcoming staff Delicious food Generous portions Reasonable prices Lively atmosphere
Cons:
Can be a bit noisy on weekends Can be busy, so it's best to book a table in advance
Overall, I would highly recommend The Pelican Pub to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Here are some additional details about my experience at The Pelican Pub:
We arrived at the pub at around 12:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The pub was already quite busy, but we were able to find a table without too much trouble. We ordered the fish and chips, which came with a side of mushy peas and tartar sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The mushy peas were also delicious. We also ordered a pint of lager each. The lager was cold and refreshing. We spent about two hours at the pub. We enjoyed our meal and conversation, and we would definitely recommend The Pelican...
Read moreI visited The Pelican today, just me and my 7 year old son. The staff was really friendly and the pub was lovely. Unfortunately I had a bad experience while I was there. Around 4.00pm, I sent my son to go in and get some crisps. I was sat on this table which I have uploaded to this review. I was sat there drinking for around 5 minutes when a man approached me. He came over and said did you know you are sat on the smoking table? You can't eat and drink on this table, you can only smoke there. I was shocked, I said OK I'll go and sit somewhere else. He then said go away because I got funny about his comment. I went and sat somewhere else and looked at all the tables, they all had ash trays on. I also saw everyone smoking at all different tables. His comment didn't really make sense to me and made me feel very awkward. Glad he didn't approach me when my son was with me. Its a shame because I've been to this pub in the past and had...
Read moreDreadful experience. Waited over an hour for food (had been told after 30 minutes it was being plated). When it came, the chips tasted like they'd been cooked in month old oil, and was somehow overcooked yet raw at the same time. The jacket potato was luke warm at best with a hot spot in the center (obviously been warmed up in the microwave). The rest of the food followed in both quality and taste and the cutlery had to be sent back as dirty. It was an awful experience. We were only one of three tables there...(so not busy). Had we not been pushed for time after waiting for so long we would have and should have gone elsewhere. Such a shame seeing they have recently taken over the premises. Let's hope they will over haul the staff and get some quality...
