The Stag — Restaurant in Beeches Community Board

Slow service, hit and miss food and a poor atmosphere.

I went on the evening of 21st December with my girlfriend. Of course we expected it to be busy so close to Christmas and it was nearly empty. We soon realised why.

Firstly, no menus on the tables - when I asked for some I was just pointed towards some sitting on the side.

After looking at the menu for about 10 minutes and finally deciding to go and order, a waitress appeared to take our order. She was blunt and not very friendly. I ordered the southern fried chicken burger and my girlfriend had the gammon. Hers came after about 20 minutes - it was described as coming with pineapple chutney but instead came with a chunk of pineapple. Her chips were completely under cooked. Her side of onion rings came a few minutes later and they were soggy so we sent them back. My food came more than 10 minutes later. It was a delicious chicken burger and that's the only reason I'm giving this place a second star.

At £10-15 for a meal, the prices would have been fine if we had a good time. But we didn't.

On top of everything there were 2 completely different playlists playing in the 2 parts of the place that I could hear equally. Frustrating.

In short, I won't...

I had the pleasure of dining at The Stag recently, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This fine dining spot offers a unique blend of Indian cuisine along with other global dishes, and every bite was exceptional.

The food was absolutely delicious—rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re a fan of traditional Indian flavors or looking to explore something new, The Stag delivers on every front. Honestly, every dish we tried was a standout.

What truly elevated the evening was the staff. Attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, they made us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the night. The atmosphere is elegant yet inviting, perfect for a special evening out.

I would highly recommend The Stag to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Between the food, the ambiance, and the impeccable service, it’s easily one of the best restaurants...

Visited on friday and was actually impressed by this place.

We arrived and sat down and was expecting a type of order at the bar establishment. To my surprise a very friendly lady (manager i think) came over and took our order at the table.

We ordered the homemade stag burger and a fish and chips. The food did take a little while, but it was actually worth the wait. The homemade burger was delicious with a nice flavour and balance of spices, and it was thick and juicy, cooked to perfection, with a nice amount of salad on the plate.

The fish and was also pretty good aswell, not too greasy with a good taste.

Unfortunately they had run out of chunky chips, which was a bit of a shame as we were substituted smaller chips.

But as the service was so good and friendly and the quality of the food good i will still give this place a 5 star review.
