Garden Moon Chinese Take Away — Restaurant in Birmingham

DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT Absolutely appalling. If I could register a 0 star review I would. Placed an order via their website, it said delivery would be approx 20 mins. An hour later I phoned to get an update. They told me it was out for delivery and to wait five minutes. A further 30 minutes passed so I opened an online chat on their website because I couldn't get through on the phone. I was told that I was talking with foodhub not the restaurant so they couldn't do anything about it because they too were unable to reach the restaurant. I requested for the order to be cancelled several times and to have a refund which foodhub said they would do. At this point almost 3 hours had passed and we'd already ordered an alternative elsewhere and received it! I continued to try to contact garden moon to confirm a refund would be issued. There was an alternative number and email address on the website for complaints which I contacted- both said they would endeavour to contact the restaurant for a refund. They have now said the restaurant is refusing to refund me - £48! I have lodged a dispute on the payment with the bank. Do not use unless you want your money stolen and...

Genuinely the worst chinese i’ve ever had. Took over 2 hours to arrive which led to us phoning several times, the man we spoke to was rude, we explained the first time the food was late he said he would ring the driver. The second time we called around 15 mins after he said our food hasn’t left and would be 15 mins. We then waited the 15 mins and called again, he picks up the phone we explain we still haven’t received our food the man says “10 minutes” and ends the call. To which we immediately ring back as we are not happy, the phone kept going straight to user busy as if the phone had been switched off. We cancelled our order through deliveroo and thankfully got out money back. The food that did arrive was cold, noodles were slimey, chicken was fatty and barely any meat in the sweet and sour chicken and salt and pepper chicken. I have never had such a bad experience with a chinese and i’d rate them less than one star is possible due to the rudeness of the staff and how shocking the food actually was. ########### AVOID ############# Shocking service... if you can call it service. Website stated 30 minute wait time for delivery. An hour later we get a call to say our takeaway had been delivered to a completely different address. It was the home owner that called me, so not only is the delivery driver incompetent, there is also a breach of GDPR having shared my address and phone number. They very kindly brought our takeaway to us. It was luke warm, sauce like jelly. There was a hair in one of the tubs, looked like a dog hair.

I used to highly rate this Chinese takeaway. Not any more. We used them a few months back and they took 2 hours to deliver then, missing items and food was cold. No apology, no refund. Thought we would give them 1 more try, may as well have burnt my money. The guy that eventually answered the phone to me said he was going to call me back when he had spoke to the delivery driver, maybe the delivery driver couldn't find his way back to the takeaway. ########### AVOID...
