Not the Boathouse but now The Bracebridge, we were out on a run in Sutton park and decided to pop in and see what the new place is like. He terrace is lovely and comfortably decorated, a nice level of background music really sets the ambiance well. We visited on Tuesday in the early afternoon and decided to have a caeser salad and fennel and sausage pizza which were both very enjoyable and quickly served. The staff are warm and welcoming and succeed in being always present without being overbearing. We have booked a table to come back and enjoy a dinner in the restaurant which we are very much looking forward to.

**Update 1/1/19** Sadly still the boathouse is closed for renovations 😔 unless you bring it yourself you'll go hungry 😢 before this beautiful historic restaurant served up some of the best food for miles around only using the finest freshest ingredients 👏🏻 but for now it's half a pint of water and boil for five minutes 😂 or remove foil lid, fill with hot water to the line and place your foil lid back on for a further three minutes then flavour with ketchup or soy sauce to your liking. I promise to update this with opening date and when it re-opens.

Recently refurbished eatery which is lovely. Great staff, super touches to welcome walkers and their dogs as well as casual diners. Great quality food too in this fantastic addition to Sutton Park. Our waitress Ellie was particularly brilliant offering us rugs and a heater to keep off a Spring chill, which we declined.

My wife and I visited the Bracebridge restaurant on Tuesday 7th May for her birthday celebration. She wanted to see how well it had been refurbished even though the online menu was very sparse and left a lot to be desired from a selection point of view. It would be fair to say the refurbishment and new facilities were extremely well done and enhanced the excellent location. Unfortunately the good initial impression was followed by a pathetic attempt at managing a top flight establishment. On taking our seats we were presented with a single sheet "menu" which contained less than half of the items shown on the internet and was so limited in choice I would have walked out had it not spoilt my wife's birthday to do so. We eventually selected the least uninspiring items and ordered two white wine spritzers (WHICH COST £21.50 - you could get 4 bottles for this) and ploughed on. I ordered the Rib- eye steak, which came on a plate with no garnish whatsoever and had to be content with chips as the ONLY side vegetable was green beans. I asked if I could have some grilled tomatoes and was told these were not available (even though there were tomatoes with the salads. I will not bore you with the rest of my dissatisfaction, except to say that I could have got a better meal at a quarter of the cost in a local pub. It is a crying shame that such a wonderful facility is obviously being "managed" by people who have no concept of what is required regarding selection and customer...

It was our first visit there was 9 of us, I feel that my meal wasn't worth the money .The waitress came and ask if I would like to order a drink, I asked if they had bottle of coke as I don't drink draught she said No ,I asked what bottle of soft drinks they had , she then pointed to the bar , I choose a J20 with NO ICE, what I didnt expect was a WARM ONE. I ordered the salmon which I was nice it was such a shame that had to wait for the veg which came few minutes later, the waitress put a bowls of mash and bowls of new potatoes on the table then returned with chips then a plate of veg which was 4 pieces veg per person. I had the Chef special which was suppose to be Chocolate and Orange Bread and Butter pudding ,IT WAS A VERY SMALL PIECE VERY DRY AT THE EDGES and could not taste the orange, it seem to me because few of order it they cut the portion in half. I ALSO THINK THAT THEY SHOULDNT PUT A SERVICE CHARGE ON THE BILL JUST BECAUSE THERE 6 OR MORE PEOPLE ,IF YOU WANT TO GIVE A TIP IT SHOULD BE UP TO...

Booked the Boathouse for an Anniversary celebration, I had heard mixed reviews and though I would try it out. Upon arriving, it seemed very cramp, tables very close together, we were led to a quiet table. We ordered drinks from a young man, also 2 bottles of wine, our drink arrived after 10 mins, but we had to prompt for our wine which took 20 mins, we then ordered our food I had pate which was was served with 2 lettuce leafs (nothing Special i may add). I then ordered Swordfish and my husband had the steak, mine arrived it had no sauce so was very dry and bland and the vegetables that were served with it were boiled potatoes, mash potatoes (they were very dry and had not been seasoned at all!) and cauliflour broccoli and mange tout. I think they need to look at what they are charging with regards to price, because the food does not reflect at all.

Overall a very disappointing meal, we will not be returning unless they...
