Went today 24/05/2021. Got here and from getting out of the taxi to getting inside my partner had lost her mask. Went in and they said we needed a mask. Or we would not be able to come in we asked if they had any to buy. As most places provide them but they said no. We had to walk to the co op about half a mile away to get one. Got back and took 10 mins for them to seat us. After this we saw the bar staff not wearing the mask while pulling drinks talking to people over the bar but when they left the bar they had to. Seems mad that the glass they was talking over someone would drink out of after they had been spluttering over it. The tables and menus was sticky. We then ordered our food. 2 large plate. And a 2 large pepsi we got 3/4 glass of pepsi. This was brimmed with ice aswell. The food come after about 40 mins. Mine was fine my partners was partially cold. Food was flavourless. For I expected for 14 pound I would have gotten a decent potion 4 chicken pieces chicken breast and chicken on a skewer with a handful of chips. Didnt really fill me up to be honest. We ordered deserts. And waited another 30 or so mins. This was suppose to be cookie sandwich cookie dough* this was 2 cheap cookies warmed up so was rock hard with a scoop of ice cream in the middle for £5 each I was disgusted. Cost just over 40 pounds for 2 of us. I honestly belive they need to sort there act out. They had a girl (11/12) year old walking round the pub without a mask on in her pajamas. Giving the orders of what drink was next. I really belive this was very irresponsible and looked extremely unprofessional. Will not...
Read moreWent with my son and my Mrs on a Saturday for lunch. It was surprisingly empty.
You can order on your phone which is very handy but it took me a good while because reception is really poor and as far as I could see there wasn't any free WiFi available which would have been useful since you expect people to order online.
I ordered the Ol' Faithful Burger or something similar and doubled up. The menu states that this comes with BBQ sauce which is what made me want to order it but it ended up coming out of the kitchen with some kind of burger sauce instead which is disappointing. At first I thought maybe I'd misread it, but I heard somebody go to the bar and complain that the sauce isn't BBQ sauce as stated so it seems their chef didn't know what the menu was.
We got a kids burger for my son which came with peas and chips which he seemed to enjoy. The burger was smaller as you'd expect for a child which was good.
My partner got one of their chicken wraps and seemed to enjoy that just fine.
Annoyingly, a common issue I have when going to pubs for food is that it seems impossible to get bottled still water, I had the same problem here. It was available to select within their online ordering tool but would throw an error whenever I'd try to check out so I ended up having to get a sparking water instead.
Overall, I'd probably go back, I enjoyed the food even though it wasn't what was on the menu and it was a...
Read moreWent here as a party of 7 (5 adults, 2 children), and it was sadly a very disappointing experience.
We were seated in the center of a side room dining area with seating all around us, which was a terrible idea as we had 2 young kids with us, so we moved ourselves to the plentiful empty booths around the edge of the room to prevent being in the way of the other diners.
We each ordered our meals, and food was served 1-2 diners at a time with large gaps in between and to make matters worse, the children's meals were served a good 5 minutes after everyone else had been served, which wasn't ideal, as anyone with kids would know.
The food was also extremely lacking, we ordered share nachos, which were literally plain nachos with some sort of passata thrown at it, plastic melted cheese, and cold slices of jalapenos. I ordered the 'boss burger,' which was a stack of a bland chicken burger and a very tough beef burger. This also came with mac n cheese, which was cold to the touch, as well as chips, which I paid extra to have loaded with cheese and bacon, which was okay to be fair. My partner had 'seasoned salmon,' which was extremely overcooked, the top half of the fish could be lifted as a whole piece from the bottom it was so tough. This came with rice, which was stone cold throughout.
Overall this was a disappointing experience, I...
