FILTHY place, food, sauce, packaging and receipts all over the place from day before. Toilet cubicles was like the bar toilets in Desperado. I politely told the staff that the restaurant was a health hazard and a D&V nightmare waiting to happen. The manager said the have not got the staff bearing in mind there was three young girls stood behind the counter doing nothing on their phones. One female member of staff even told me to go elsewhere if I don't like it. Stay clear of this place as god knows what is happening in the kitchen with the cleanliness and food handling standard.

Ended up asking for a refund there was just too many flies. On the surface the restaurant looks tidy, the kitchen floor was a mess but it's a working kitchen,I get that to a degree. I could spot 20 flies between the tills and kitchen area), I couldn't eat from there, it was rather sickening. Watching staff try to swat them away whilst preparing my burger is simply too much for me! Never had that experience in any other maccies before and it wasn't pleasant!

Love the McD's as it's our local one. It's always clean, the staff are friendly. The only problem is swearing teens, but these are dealt with quickly on telling staff, though it does ruin our family trip, sadly a sign of the times. The children like the tablets in the center and are easy to track and keep an eye on. There's an outside seating area with a small slide and climbing frame. Highly recommended, even when it's busy it's relaxed and welcoming.

This would be a zero star review if the option was available. A dreadful visit this evening, a Thursday evening at 2030, after a long and busy day at work. I needed something quick and easy for dinner. But there were a lot of people waiting....

First gripe - ordered using the Order screens. This was dirty and did not issue a receipt.

I then waited 40 minutes, watching my order number appear on the "collect now" area. Nothing materialised. During this time, I asked several times, politely, how much longer my order would be. "We're just getting to it" was the response I received each time. About 25 people were also waiting for a long time.

During this time, several of the staff on breaks ordered their food and asked for their orders to be prioritised. I get they have a set time period for their break, but jumping ahead of customers who have waited a substantial amount of time is not on.

After 40 minutes, my order number disappeared off the screen. I gave up and asked for a refund. The manager appeared, asked for my order number and then what was in the order - I was told that my order of several components must have been assimilated in to other orders from the drive thru.

Despite my showing the card transaction and charge paid on my mobile banking app, totalling £12.58, he couldn't then find my order on the system to issue a refund, so attempted to manually recreate my order. Initial offer of refund was for £9.62, which clearly I declined. After more fiddling about, he got to £12.48. Was that ok for a refund was the question. So ok, it's 10p out, but why should I pay anything for a dreadful experience, long wait and NO food?! Again, I declined. Eventually we got there...

While I was waiting, I witnessed multiple orders being returned with incorrect elements. But what bothered me most was to see a chap in the kitchen pull out a handful of burgers from a draw freezer and drop one on the floor. This was retrieved and placed with the others in his hand. Aside from the fact this dropped burger would have contaminated the others, I rather suspect it didn't then go in the bin... Perhaps a good thing my food didn't arrive!

Overall, an appalling experience - and on a Thursday late evening. How they cope on a busy weekend lunchtime I dread to imagine.

Avoid like the plague - go to Blackpool McDonalds or buy a cow, kill and process it, make a burger and cook it yourself instead, it'll...

I understand McDonald’s in Lytham is a popular spot — and rightly so, given it’s the only one in a classy town like this. It’s great to see it busy, and the team behind the counter generally seem to handle that well. However, I think there are a few areas where the customer experience could be improved with relatively small changes.

The cleanliness of the dining area can be an issue, particularly during busy periods. I know McDonald’s has a culture where customers often leave their trays, but this makes it all the more important that staff keep on top of clearing tables quickly. At times, it’s hard to find a clean seat, and this could be off-putting to customers. Similarly, bins — both inside and out — need to be checked and emptied more regularly, as overflowing bins inevitably lead to more mess and a less pleasant environment.

I’ve also observed that staff who aren’t on the tills often appear to move at quite a slow pace. A little more urgency and focus on efficiency — particularly around cleaning and clearing — would go a long way in improving the overall atmosphere and service.

This isn’t a criticism of individual staff members, but more a suggestion for management to tighten the logistics and increase accountability around cleaning and movement during peak times. With a few tweaks, this McDonald’s could reflect the high standards that match the town...

Okay so a McDonalds is a Mcdonalds, is a McDonalds right? Wrong.... 2 stars.... 1 for the poor staff members who had to delivery virtually every single order taken at the drive thru - I mean seriously, if you have a drive thru, make sure the parking on site is adequate if you are not going to be able to keep up with the volume of orders coming in. 2nd star, for the food itself when it arrived, it was McDonalds and we all know what it is but actually, it was hot, obviously freshly made and thats my issue only giving it two start rating, the food was great for what it is, but, and here's the kicker, when I arrive at a McDonalds drive thru - I'd maybe (at busy times,) expect a five to ten minute wait, not here..... 40 minutes from ordering an paying to receiving the meals. Okay, slight mix up with them taking order and writing the vehicle reg number on the receipt, the poor lad delivering looked mortified when he turned up to our car with happy meals...... anyway, he eventually sorted out the issue and we got our food, but seriously McDonalds, more staff taking orders and more making food if at 13:00 on a Saturday the place falls into this much of a meltdown....
