Hubby and I stopped at Hamish’s Café and Bar whilst in the area on Gallery deliveries. It stays open after many other places on a Sunday and we only really wanted a cuppa but saw that the location of this place had a great view too.

We were tempted by the scones, freshly baked and served with jam and clotted cream.

They were completely delicious although the scones were very large! They did however come with a little pot of jam and plenty of cream!

The café is very large with plenty of outside seating and great views out the front. There is also a big car park to the side.

The bill for today was £24.20 which included the scones, a large americano, a pot of tea and a delicious homemade brownie to take home.

Their Christmas Menu looks great and sounds excellent value for money but fortunately it’s a little too far to travel for us.

The staff were all lovely and we will be very happy to call here again next time...

The first visit was terrible, (we gave the benefit of doubt just incase it was an off day) the second and final visit was even worse!

First visit we were served with luke warm coffee and poached eggs on toast that were as hard as bullets. I thought that it must have been a bad day and that the chef hadn't turned into work so someone else had substituted. Second visit, it was quiet, we ordered our drinks which were two cold drinks, so not complicated, we made it known that we wanted to eat so were given the menus. We perused the menus and made our choices and then we waited and waited and waited and waited some more for someone to take our order. The waitress who had given us the menus said she would be back to take our order. 30 minutes of waiting and having finished our drinks we paid and moved on to a more pleasant and professional...

We were staying at Valley View pods just opposite Hamish’s and they had a menu to view. Menu was inviting and reasonable, so looked at online at reviews, which made our mind up to try Sunday Lunch as there were so many great reviews. Only booked the same morning for a table for 5 adults, 2 children and a pram and the lady on the phone was welcoming and helpful. The cafe is lovely and light with amazing views. Our table was waiting, bonus right by the front window. The staff were very welcoming, especially with the children. We all had a roast beef lunch and can say it was plentiful and delicious. The service was good and friendly and the meal very good value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend Hamish’s to anyone , and hope to return to sample more of the delicious looking...

My first visit. A nice welcome and I was seated straightaway despite it looking really busy - the car park was almost full. I ordered a pot of tea and the English Breakfast. The tea quickly arrived and the breakfast followed after a short wait. Everything was cooked really well and the all the ingredients were very good quality. I'd finished my pot of tea by the time my food arrived but other than that everything was spot on. It's not the cheapest venue for a breakfast, but the quality and cooking of the food, the service and the setting make it worth the trip as attested to by all the full tables.

A friend and I were here on Tuesday evening, for an evening of ghost stories for Halloween with Simon Entwistle who does Top Hat Tours. A spookily enjoyable evening which included ghoulicious ghoulash mwaa ha ha 👻. I'd never been there before, very happy to return though, just one disabled parking bay at the front of the building, not needing to use the the facilities, I can't report on those at the moment. There is ramped access, the left hand side is less steep than the right. All the staff were very friendly and only too happy to help.
