It's clean, friendly, and well maintained. The carvery was excellent. Nothing over cooked or mushy. Fab choice of veg (carrot n swede (I think, didn't check), peas, broccoli, cauliflower cheese), mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes with skin left on, giant homemade made to perfection Yorkshire puds, tasty thick gravy, stuffing. I didn't have the stuffing, but Grandma couldn't help but comment how delicious it was. A selection of 3 meats, you can have all 3! All the correct condiments and mint sauce is an option in as well, because you never know! The meat choice was gammon, beef, and turkey. All 3 were juicy! The venue made me nostalgic of the late 90's style pub carvery from back in my teenage days. Some may say dated, I saw retro/ vintage. Really enjoyed our Sunday tea! We didn't have starters, but we did have dessert. We weren't shown a menu, but we were invited to the cake display and asked to choose. For me, it was missing a Victoria Sponge, lemon drizzle, or carrot cake. The children could not decide with chocolate fudge, biscoff, and other various sumptuous treats on offer. The chocolate fudge was divine according to my 10 year old. I had a trifle, which was a little disappointing as the fruit it contained seemed to be tinned. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. It was enjoyable. I just prefer fresh fruit if it's included in a trifle. My homemade trifle doesn't have fruit in, just some sherry instead. This is just personal preference. For me, that extra star would have been given for a dessert selection that pleased my preferences. This place might be 5 stars for you! No complaints, left happy. Thanks Rose n Bowl! An excellent...

Years since I was last here for their famous carvery. Was in the area on a Saturday afternoon so brother suggested a visit. Loads of free parking just over the road with some of the widest disabled bays I have ever seen. Menus on tables and a blackboard with a lot of specials on it. Carvery is not available during the day apart from Sunday I think but we already knew that. My brother got drinks from the bar. Pint of San Miguel and a lime and soda. Got change from a fiver so great value there. He ordered the fish and chips and I went for the Cumberland Sausage. You go up to a counter to order and pay there. Food took a while to arrive which suggests everything was being cooked fresh. When it was served portions were big and the food was piping hot. The sausages were huge, really tasty and very filling. Neither of us finished our plates. We were stuffed. So the food was great. Tasty, big portions and relatively inexpensive. Less than £25 for the lot. The only downside to me was the noise. Music was playing and I found it loud. Also a lot of dads in with their sons. Several looked like they had been playing for local school teams so this added to the noise and I found it hard to relax. But then it was a Saturday afternoon and you're unlikely to get this if you go to dine during the week. So don't let this put you off. I must be getting more grumpy as I get older. Overall I would recommend. If you want good, inexpensive, freshly cooked grub it's worth a visit. I would go back if in the area but not on a...

The food was okay but service was the worst i've probably ever experienced. we was shown to our table on arrival and was told somebody would come and take the drinks order, at that point we were not given a menu to browse, after 20 minutes my daughter approached the receptionist and asked was it self service! the receptionist explained that no, it was table service and gave her 2 menus although 3 of us were dining, i went back to the receptionist and asked for another menu and explained that we had been sat at the table for over 20 minutes and that nobody had come to us to take the drinks order, she apologised and said she would send someone over, we ordered our drinks along with our food, after returning to the table i noticed that not all the knives and forks were there so went to ask for them, after waiting a few minutes someone sauntered over with them. half way through our meal we still hadn't got our drinks so i again approached the receptionist, by this time it was getting a bit embarrassing, after we had finished the food and asked for the bill my daughters boyfriend asked for a diet coke, another 15 minutes went by before he got this.....needless to say, i'll choose...

An excellent venue in all things. My bowls club had a day out at the Rose 'N' Bowl. The green was in excellent condition & great to bowl on. We started the day with breakfast which was nicely cooked. We then played a tournament which lasted the whole day (which I won😁) then had the carvery. Most of us had the 3 course meal which was excellent value. The food was stunning. The meat just fell apart & the vegetables were nicely cook. All the food was the best I had eaten at this sort on venue in a very long time. I certainly will be going back soon & taking my family with me. The staff were friendly & attentive; nothing was too much in making sure all our needs were met. I made a point of saying thanks to the chefs & waiters as well as the managers which they appreciated. Please take the time to go to the Rose 'N' Bowl you won't be disappointed. They have an annual world gravy wrestling championship on 26 August 2019 to raise money for their local hospice. I'll be going to give my support & to have more to eat!! Just hope they don't recycle the gravy afterwards for the carvery!!

Had a trip over to Rose n Bowl for a Sunday Carvery. Choose this place after great reviews online. We were not disappointed. Best roast beef and Turkey we have ever had, very impressed. Ham joint was also excellent. Warm welcome from the team and great service from the Master Carver serving up the meat. Not too busy at 2pm Sunday, but young waiting on staff could have followed up for more drinks, deserts etc as we had to ask each time. Overall great food and worth a visit if your looking for an unlimited Carvery.

Wow! I am so impressed with this pub! The food was absolutely amazing. When we first got in I was so surprised of the size of the place - it’s massive. There were so many lovely things on the menu it took me a very long time to decide but I ultimately went for the salmon. Let me tell you: it was the most delicious food I have had in a very long time! Everyone at our table loved their food and it was extremely filling. We will definitely aim to come more often!!
