The Water Trough Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Borough of Rossendale

When I visited 2 years ago the vegan menu was good and the food served was incredible. We visited this morning and ordered the vegan full trough, unfortunately they didn't have most of the vegan items on the menu and it was very underwhelming. It was more like a quarter trough than a full trough. They split one sausage between the two of us and offered extra vegan bacon instead. No hash browns, no vegan black pudding, not many mushrooms, half a tomato.

The coffee was really good though. I had a flat white with oat milk and it was delicious.

I would recommend that vegans either avoid this café, or visit more frequently so they have to keep their vegan items stocked!

Water isn't a place I go. However, following a trip to Your Health Matters at Rossendale Cottages, we came across this little gem of a cafe, which was beautifully decorated and pissed a lovely atmosphere. Grace and Owen are the friendly owners and fabulous at what they do. They made us feel very welcome and chatted to us about their food and life in general. The food was delicious 😋 and of great quality and was presented well. This time, I resisted Grace's homemade cake. However, on my next visit, I am sure she will tempt me. The place is licensed so if you ate celebrating or like a glass of fizz or something else they offer that. What an absolute gem of a place. Now the food in absolutely gorgeous!! As is the atmosphere and wow our two doggies received yummy sausages. BUT the customer service here is on another level!! Can’t do enough for us. We had lunch and then returned following day for brunch and once again outstanding food and service. Can’t wait to return this is definitely myself and my besties go to place. Kenny and Henry loved it too. Now what really stuck with us was how accommodating they were to our doggies as Henry is a very nervous doggie, they provided seating to our request so he felt comfortable and didn’t make it an issue.
