I'm a local neighbour and on May 31st I had an overall pleasant experience at the pub, I encountered a significant issue with the parking facilities that has unfortunately overshadowed my visit. Even after appealing the fine and showing proof of my transaction at the pub, the parking charge was not revoked and they offered to pay £20 or go for further appealing against.

I understand that the pub may not directly manage the parking facilities, but this experience has been quite frustrating, specially when sending them the proof of my transaction.

I normally ensure to follow the parking regulations in the pub entering my vehicle registration number into the machine provided at the premises - which it doesn't give you a prove of recording, so it's your words vs their company system. I am confident that I entered my vehicle registration number correctly into the machine as required. If there was any error, it might have been a technical issue with the machine or typing error, as I have always adhered to the parking...

How do people end up in the hospitality industry and then fail to be hospitable? Greeted by being told that we were "not allowed our dog inside the pub" in a less then friendly manner. As my wife quickly asked what I wanted to drink and I replied "any ale will do, but I best take the dog out to the garden" the lady behind the bar chimed in again "yes you need to take that dog out now"....It's a pub, on a popular rural walk for MANY dog owners....Not being friendly to dog owners, are they stark raving mad or badly running a pub as a hobby? I can understand not being allowed in the "restaurant" area but at least greet us with a smile and maybe let us stay in the bar area... Poor cider and beer selection, naff wallpaper, sports bar vibe with the big garish TV screens. Lovely...

Nice pub, not suffered the usual Gastropub conversion which is quite refreshing.

The main bar area feels like a proper pub. The food is well priced, decent portions and our Sunday roast was well on par. Mothers day pricing wasn't a premium, like many competitors, which is also refreshing to see.

The garden is much larger than you'd initially expect, with the River Way flowing past, creating a lovely setting. There's a decent play area for the kids, with swings, climbing frames and slides.

They have a car park, which is free.

Only negative I really had was the coffee. On the same level as most pubs, which isn't great, but let's be honest, pubs aren't coffee shops and all the proper drinks...

The white Hart! Oh my!! What an absolute gem. I almost didn't want to write this review to try and keep this amazing place all to myself. What a delight. The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The garden and surroundings are to die for. I've popped in now everyday this week and I leave relaxed and ready for whatever life throws at me next. Seriously great pub and I will be back again for sure. The scampi, piggy fries, homemade soup and vegetable spring rolls are all really tasty. The menu is very pub food based. It's all cooked really well. Keep it up!

It's a nice little bar with the just enough parking but there is no sign for entrance and exit in car park bit confusing. Inside it looks like preserved in time lots of original feature. Plenty of sitting outside it the weather is good. Good and attantive staff. Not a lot of bear slection but I found what I like.... No phone signal inside and their Wi-Fi connectivity is appealing....

What a beautiful place ! We’re here from out of town and it’s a really lovely place , great prices , decent snacks and the staff are so welcoming ! Awesome place to watch the river flow by ! The staff here were so attentive and on the ball with the customers, especially as it’s a busy bank holiday afternoon ! 5 stars ⭐️
