The Anchor is a sports bar conveniently located near Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport. It's a great spot to unwind with family and friends, offering large screens for sports viewing, snooker tables, darts, and games for children. We stumbled upon this place while looking for a spot to relax and ordered beer and whiskey. I appreciated the attention to detail, like the beer being served in its branded glass. The interior of the bar is relatively spacious, and the outdoor seating area is pleasant. However, one downside is the frequent noise from aircraft taking off every few minutes, which can disrupt conversations. The meals looked visually appealing, although we didn't try them as we weren't in the mood for food. The ambiance was enjoyable, with background rock music playing as we caught part of a Chelsea football match. The parking area is also spacious and located within the compound, so there's no need to worry about getting wet on a rainy day while heading to your car. However, I did notice two significant issues. First, the hygiene of the restroom, specifically the urinal, was questionable. A clean and spacious restroom is essential for any pub, especially a sports bar. Secondly, there was an unattended dog running around both inside and outside the pub, which was a bit off-putting, regardless of how cute the dog may have been. Overall, despite these drawbacks, I would consider visiting again to sample their...
Read moreThe review said it was a sports pub but not sure how you can be a sport pub as you don’t show the football ! No sky sports also, l order a lamb shank from the menu as it was the closest to a Sunday roast which they don’t do anymore ? The food came fairly quickly and l asked does this come with mint sauce and was assured it did - it look quite nice but the lamb and mashed potato was covered in gravy and no mint sauce - the lady said that her colleague was bringing it out so l starting but found that vegetables were very cold but the mess was nice and the lamb ok and then l was told that they had run out of mint sauce (yesterday) l told them that l pacifically ask for sauce at the beginning Ana now they have none!! I was ask by someone else (manager?) and explained the above he came back and said he can go to the shop and get some which was 15 mins into the meal - too late to wait another 15 minutes !! He did offer to get another drink (cola), but all in all not a nice meal which is unfortunately as l do think they care...
